Today’s Thought

“Let brotherly love continue”

(June 06)

As Christadelphians we are brothers and sisters in Christ, which means we should love each other as brothers and sisters, being part of a great family.

Whatever might happen in this world we should

Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. (Hebrews 13:1)

The world may look to turn upside down, having many godless people trying to convince us we belong to a sect or running behind dreams never to come true. We can see around us many people who do evil in the eyes of Jehovah and chose to do such things in which God does not find any delight (see the reading of July 9: Isaiah 65:12).

In a time where we are coming to see a multitude of ruthless, ungodly people and nations who wage war against God loving people, their hearts far removed from the Most High, we should feel our bond even stronger. In these times we should read the Words of God even more intensely and join hands with all who want to serve God. We should not be so much afraid but now that the afflicted also will increase their gladness in their Divine Creator, having the needy of mankind able to rejoice in the hope and in the Holy One of Israel, for the ruthless will come to an end and the scorner will be finished. Indeed all who are intent on doing evil will be cut off;

Who [y]cause a person to be indicted by a word, And ensnare him who adjudicates at the gate, And [z]defraud the one in the right with [aa]meaningless arguments. {Isaiah 29:19-21 NASB}

United to form ecclesiae, we shall be rejoicing to worship That Only One God and we will be glad to sanctify the Most High God His Holy Name;

Indeed, they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob
And will stand in awe of the God of Israel.
24 “Those who err in [ac]mind will know [ad]the truth,
And those who [ae]criticize will [af]accept instruction. {Isaiah 29:23-24 NASB}

Not afraid to find people around us, having the same faith, believing that Jesus is the son of God and that he is the way to God, we want to follow that man of flesh and blood and be partakers of his body.

To the world we should be an example of people following the teachings of the Jewish Nazarene rebbe Jeshua (Jesus Christ) which are and means following God’s commandments and Biblical teachings. As such we shall show in this world where we see so many divorcing, that marriage is sanctified.
Marriage should be honoured by everyone, and husband and wife should keep their marriage [L the marriage bed should be kept] pure [undefiled]. We should know and let others know that God will judge as guilty [L judge] those who take part in sexual sins [L the sexually immoral and adulterers]. Therefore we as brothers and sisters will keep an eye on all those around us to keep them save and to have them living like God wants us to live. This also means that we shall keep our lives free from the love of money, and be satisfied [content] with what we have. [L For] God has said,

“I will never leave you;
I will never ·abandon [T forsake] you [Deut. 31:6].”

Feeling to be united,making each other strong we do know we can trust God and that we should not be afraid; so we can be sure [confident; bold] when we say,

“I will not be afraid, because Jehovah God is my helper.
People can’t do anything [L What can people do…?] to me [Ps. 118:6].” (Hebrews 13:4-6)

As followers of Christ, always taking him as our example we should make it sure that at all times we can have a clear conscience, because we always want to do the right thing. (Hebrews 13:18)

Conducting ourselves honourably in all things we should not be afraid to show the world our connection and our way of life.

Being aware that in this godless world there are many who would like us to turn to the human dogmatic teachings, but we must take care that we do not let any  kind of strange teaching lead us into the wrong way [take us off course; lead us astray].
Our hearts should be strengthened by God’s grace and by the hope put in front of us of a city to come.

Here on earth we do not have a city that lasts forever [endures], but we are looking for [seeking] the city that we will have in the future [is to come]. So through Jesus let us always and continuously offer to God our sacrifice of praise, coming from the fruit of our lips that speak [profess; acknowledge] his name, not forgetting or not neglecting to do good to others (even to our enemies), and share with them, because such sacrifices please God. (Hebrews 13:14-16)

As brethren and sisters in Christ we should love each other so much we are always ready to jump in and to help each other, but also want to pray for each-other.
Therefore let us pray that the God of peace will give us [equip/prepare us with] every good thing we need so we can do what he wants [His will]. This God of peace raised from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep [Ps. 23; John 10:11–18], because of [or through; by] the blood of his death [L blood] that began the eternal agreement that God made with his people [L of the eternal covenant/contract; 8:1–13]. We pray that God will do in us what pleases [is acceptable to] Him, and that He shall make sure that we can produce the agapè love and show the world that we are worthy partakers of the Body of Christ giving glory to Jesus Christ, and to His heavenly Father (Hebrews 13:18-21).
