Press On a new Christadelphian journal

We are pleased to introduce to you “Press On” a Christadelphian journal.

The aim of the new magazine is to produce an issue every couple of months. The articles are peer reviewed and are presented in multiple formats: some people like to read, some like to listen, some like to watch.

Their editorial philosophy is taken wholesale from Phil 3:12–14.

“Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Press On means:
• Vision: aspiring to deep and profound transformation in Christ
• Perseverance: life can be tough, faith gets challenged, how do I keep going?
• Progress: moving forward without being held back by the patterns of the past

Press On aspires to stimulate growth in the Christadelphian community by helping it draw strength from its diversity, following the spirit of 1 Cor 12, and Rom 12 — one body, made up of different parts, all of whom are dependent on each other. As in the first century, our community of faith can benefit from both progressive and traditional perspectives so long as they are explored compassionately and without factionalism. That is what the publishers are trying to do.

As a reader, listener or viewer of Press On, you may come across perspectives you have not encountered before. Some topics you may immediately resonate with and be thrilled by. Others you might disagree with. Their goal is that either way, you come away without feeling talked down to and with something worth considering.

Each of their articles are presented in video, audio, and written formats in order to accommodate different learning styles. Many people have told the team they enjoy listening to an article on their commute or as part of their exercise routine, while others prefer to watch or read each article.

Dig Deeper

In addition to being able to watch, listen to, or read each article, the team is working on creating discussion questions to encourage further self-reflection or discussion. You can use these on your own, or with others. You can find them on each article page.
