Today’s thought “The Only One God Who is the great, the mighty, and the awesome God” (November 21)

Yesterday we read how the Israelites were thirsty to hear God’s Word to the point that when Ezra opened the Law of Moses they stood, lifted their hands in worship and they bowed in reverence to the reading of the Word.

How many times do we raise our hands, praise God for what He does for us? How many times do we dance and express pure joy of being in the presence of the Most High Supreme Being, God above all gods?

How much do we praise the Most High for creating everything around us? How many of us do recognize the Most High Supreme Being as their Only One God? In this world there are lots of Christians who worship an other God than the God of Abraham. They have chosen to follow false human doctrines and worship a God the father, god the son and a god the Holy Spirit, being three gods, so called in one, but still having different qualities. Though The God of the bible is very clear that He should be the Only One Who has to be worshipped in honesty and in truth.

“ {1 } God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth. {1) Or God is spirit } (Joh 4:24 ASV)

“ Hear, O Israel: {1 } Jehovah our God is one Jehovah: {1) Or Jehovah our God, Jehovah is one; Or Jehovah is our God, Jehovah is one; Or Jehovah is our God, Jehovah alone } and thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart;” (De 6:4-6 ASV)

“ I am Jehovah thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of {1 } bondage. {1) Heb bondmen } Thou shalt have no other gods {1 } before me. {1) Or besides me } (De 5:6-7 ASV)

“ Thou shalt have no other gods {1 } before me. {1) Or besides me } (Ex 20:3 ASV)

“ with whom Jehovah had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:” (2Ki 17:35 ASV)

“ and go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the work of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.” (Jer 25:6 ASV)

“ I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images.” (Isa 42:8 ASV)

“ And Jehovah shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall Jehovah be one, and his name one.” (Zec 14:9 ASV)

The majority of those who call themselves Christian do not worship the God of Christ and do not want to accept the words of Jesus who clearly said he could not do anything without his heavenly Father Who is greater than him.

“ Jesus answered, The first is, {1 } Hear, O Israel; {2 } The Lord our God, the Lord is one: {1) De 6:4 ff 2) Or The Lord is our God; the Lord is one } (Mr 12:29 ASV)

“ But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh even until now, and I work.” (Joh 5:17 ASV)

“ Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing: for what things soever he doeth, these the Son also doeth in like manner.” (Joh 5:19 ASV)

“ Ye heard how I said to you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: for the Father is greater than I.” (Joh 14:28 ASV)

Those name Christians also forget how the apostles taught the same God as the one of Moses, Abraham, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jesus and the God of Israel Who is One.

“ yet to us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we unto him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him.” (1Co 8:6 ASV)

The chosen man of God, Ezra, let us know that This God is the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love. He is the God of righteousness Who has been righteous in all that has come upon us, for This eternal God, contrary to human beings, has no birth and no death, and has dealt faithfully whilst so many men and women acted wickedly. {Ne 9:32}

It is for that Only One True God of Israel that we should witness and as in ancient times should come together, gathering in His sons name, creating one united body, learning and growing by the study of the Bible.
