In this world we encounter lots of people who say they are a Christian. But when we look at their behaviour we could wonder if they could be worthy to call themselves Christian.
We may encounter lots of Christians who call other names or who say others shall burn in hell for ever. They love to fight about words, which does no good and only ruins those who listen. Some make every effort to present others as enemies of God. There are those who call themselves Christians but in a way do lots of things the opposite than Jesus would do them. Several Christians want others to believe that they would be better than others. Though when looking at them we can see as many faults by them as by the others.
Let us make sure that we can present ourself to God as one who is approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, correctly handling the word of truth and worshipping the Only One True God of Christ. Let us make sure we fall not in the trap to become partners of pointless chatter. We have to avoid it, for it will lead to an ever greater measure of godlessness, and the message of such speakers will spread like gangrene. In the past there have been many who have veered away from the truth, saying that Jesus is God or that the resurrection has already happened. They are overturning the faith of some. Nevertheless, God’s foundation stands firm, having this seal:
“ Howbeit the firm foundation of God standeth, having this seal, {1 } The Lord knoweth them that are his: and, {2 } Let every one that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness. {1) Nu 16:5? 2) Isa 26:13? } (2Ti 2:19 ASV)
