Consideration for today 24 May 2022

After the effects of the Corona pandemic, we had the consequences of the war in Ukraine, and the monkeypox virus came to haunt the world.

All these mishaps made people react strangely and led families to the need to watch what to do and what to spend money on.

In the previous months, believers were tested a lot by people who did not believe in God or who questioned it.

Many believers have also been tested in recent months because their families have also been affected by the Coronavirus.

In the period of lockdown we had to build up our life in a different way, also preserving our faith-life on our own, churches being closed. At that time is where faith got reflected by the things we did. Our faith changes how we run with endurance the race God has set before us. Faith is the catalyst to help us move through joy, pain and grief. Though it could have been some difficult times for many, it was a matter of keeping moving, keeping going forward, and trying to reach that goal set in front us.

Let us be “firm in the faith” all the time. Looking at this world, seeing how many things go so wrong, we have to keep sharing our hope and together should wait for God his Son from heaven.

“9 For they themselves report concerning us what manner of entering in we had unto you; and how ye turned unto God from idols, to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, who delivereth us from the wrath to come.” (1Th 1:9-10 ASV)

These words as so meaningful for us today; let us be “firm in faith” that God means what He caused his servants to write. May we, with full conviction in God,

“wait for his son from heaven”

sensing that wrath will soon be coming on our world because it has nearly reached the stage of godlessness.

We may not hide but should be strong enough to dare to talk about our faith to others. We should let others know that if we faithfully obey the Voice of Jehovah our God, being careful to do all His commandments, that we shall be able to receive these blessings God has promised. Though the world may be stricken by confusion of mind because many do not serve God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, because of the abundance of all things, we should show the world there are better things than all that material stuff that surrounds us.

It is in these times of confusion and wondering that we, as brothers and sisters in Christ, should show others how knowledge and belief in the truth of God’s Word can give us and them a foretaste now, and give us hope for wonderful future blessings promised! We should get others to see that Without God there is no purpose, no goal, no hope.  But with Him, we have a great future in front of us. While knowledge and belief are an essential foundation, we also must be aware that prayerful godly living is needed to complete the character of Christ being formed in us.

Let us not neglect our regular Bible reading as it lays the foundation of firm faith, and helps us to

“be strong and courageous”

both now and when the foretold

“wrath to come”

actually happens.
