Today’s thought “About our attitude opposite others” (December 12)

In this world there may be lots of unkind speech, gossip, slander, but we as followers of Christ should get rid of all such evil behaviour. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all wrong and insulting language. (1 Peter 2:1)

When we are Christadelphians or when we say we are a Christian, we should take on a character worthy of Christ ans show a Christian attitude, an attitude to life stripped of all the bad gossip and actions not worthy for a follower of Christ.
Such attitude does not come in one day, so we shave to grow up into salvation. (1 Peter 2:2-3) Often people do know from their heart what might be good or bad, though they not always follow what their instinct brings into their head. Often there is a big difference in effect between the heart and head knowledge.

Wisdom may come into our hearts but there the seed has to germinate. Once we start hearing the Word of God we have to grow in our knowledge of that sacred (or set apart) Word. When people chose to become a follower of Christ, they have to learn the teachings of Christ and have to learn to put them in practice and to keep them. (That seems not always as simple as it sounds like.)

Choosing to become a real follower of Christ, one has to accept who Jesus is, the son of God, and wanting to be partakers of the “Body” or “God’s temple” of which Christ Jesus is the living cornerstone. (1 Peter 2:4) The one calling himself a Christian or Christadelphian has to become one of the different living stones that God is building into His spiritual temple. (1 Peter 2:5)

There is no allowance to live not according to God’s Will with not having repentance. We may not stumble like those who do not obey God’s Word. Those who do not believe and/or not follow the Word of the Most High Elohim, shall meet the fate that was planned for them. (1 Peter 2:8)

We should know that we are a chosen people, set aside to be God’s own; so that we may proclaim the wondrous acts of the One who called us out of inky darkness into shimmering light. We have to follow up the tasks given by Christ and show others the goodness of The Only True God, being aware that now are God’s people. Once we had not received mercy, but now we have received it. (1 Peter 2:9)
