Israel ready for war

In October Israel hold a national war exercise to test emergency response on the home front during a large military conflict. The drill simulated rocket attacks by Hezbollah and Hamas as well as an eruption of nationwide violence by Israeli Arabs.
Scenarios on the domestic front will including wide-scale rioting and and blocking of major roads, Maariv daily reported. The police previously warned that Arab violence within Israel will be more intensive than events during the Gaza war in May.

A new command centre for all of Israel’s emergency and rescue forces will be activated during the exercise, the report said. The week-long drill will be held at the end of October. The large exercise is the latest in a series of home front and military training manoeuvres. This week, the IDF is testing the response to rocket attacks in the central Israel towns of Lod and Ramle, near Ben-Gurion international airport. Earlier drills tested the rocket alert system in northern and southern communities.

As well as a national emergency drill on land the Israeli Navy also launched a surprise drill Monday morning on multiple fronts. The large scope of these exercises appear to simulate scenarios expected in a broad regional war. Interestingly during the drill, warships were tested defences at strategic sites such as offshore gas rigs, military and civilian ports, and electricity production sites.
We know that these gas rigs could well be the focus of Gog (Russia’s ruler) at the time of the end. This is because Ezekiel 38 speaks of Gog thinking an evil thought and deciding to invade Israel to take a spoil. Putin understands the value of energy supplies – it is pretty much all Russia can offer the world. Israel is preparing for this invasion and also the initial conflict with Hezbollah.

On that day thoughts will come into your mind and you will devise an evil scheme. You will say, “I will invade a land of unwalled villages; I will attack a peaceful and unsuspecting people—all of them living without walls and without gates and bars. I will plunder and loot and turn my hand against the resettled ruins and the people gathered from the nations. (Psalm 2:12-13)

As the IDF’s large-scale Home Front Command and National Emergency Authority (RAHEL) drill simulating a large-scale conflict with Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah terrorist group at the beginning of this month came to a close, officers warned that both citizens and soldiers need to be ready for any type of emergency to hit the home front.

“The home front needs to be ready, and so do we. Whenever something should happen we all need to be ready: the citizens and the army,”

said Northern Command training officer Lt.-Col Yaniv Friedman. Along with the Home Front Command and RAHEL, all security and various governmental bodies, as well as Israel Police and Magen David Adom, participated in the drill that ended on Wednesday night. Should a war break out with Hezbollah, tens of thousands of rockets are expected to be fired from Lebanon, with some 2,000 fired toward Israel every day.

Israel is increasingly on a war footing as tensions with Iran escalate. Israel knows that Iran will use its proxy armies of Hezbollah and Hamas to attack Israel at some point in the future. The drill at the beginning of this month included a simulation of missile attacks from the north, south and the east; contending with racial riots within Israel; and widespread cyberattacks on vital infrastructure such as power stations, hospitals or water that could disrupt life. The drill also focused on the evacuation of residents of communities that are within 5 km of the Lebanese border.

Isaiah 17 speaks of a time when Damascus is completely destroyed. At this time we read that northern Israel will become like a grainfield and Israel’s glory will depart. This is describing the initial inner ring war against Israel that Psalm 83 and Zechariah 12 also detail. We know it is coming….

The fortified towns of northern Israel will also be destroyed, and the royal power of Damascus will end. All that remains of Syria will share the fate of Israel’s departed glory,” declares the Lord of Hosts. “In that day Israel’s[c] glory will grow dim; its robust body will waste away. The whole land will look like a grainfield after the harvesters have gathered the grain. (Isaiah 17:3-5 NLT)
