Today’s thought “Asking God to arise against the enemies” (January 03)

Today we listen to a prayer and a passionate song of David with Psalm 6 & 7.

Facing several problems David took refuge and asked God to save him from each of his persecutors (Psalm 7:1-2)

David asks the Adonai, Who commanded judgment and vindication, to arise in His anger against the fury or rage of his enemies. (Psalm 7:6) He is aware that it is the Most Almighty Elohim, Hashem Jehovah God Who judges the peoples and decrees justice. (Psalm 7:7-8)

With the knowledge that the Adonai judges the peoples, we can ask, like David did, to vindicate us according to our righteousness and integrity in us, as our integrity deserves. (Psalm 7:8)

Facing the many problems caused by our adversaries we, like David may make a plea to God to redeem us from these enemies. As such an end may come to the evil of the wicked and the righteous sustained, having God as our shield. (Psalm 7:9-10)

From Scripture, we have the assurance that those who want God as their shield, willing to come close to Him, He too shall be willing to come close and to protect them. The Shield God, searches minds and hearts, and is the Saviour of the upright in heart.  They may look forward to the God Who is a righteous judge and a God who is indignant every day. (Psalm 7:11)

“ Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts;” (Ps 139:23 ASV)

“ and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Ro 8:27 ASV)

“ But unto us God revealed them through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” (1Co 2:10 ASV)

“ And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto each one of you according to your works.” (Re 2:23 ASV)

“7 And let the congregation of the peoples compass thee about; And over them return thou on high. 8 Jehovah ministereth judgment to the peoples: Judge me, O Jehovah, according to my righteousness, and to mine integrity that is in me.” (Ps 7:7-8 ASV)

“ God is a righteous judge, Yea, a God that hath indignation every day.” (Ps 7:11 ASV)

“ Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.” (Ps 18:2 ASV)

“ As for God, his way is perfect: The word of Jehovah is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in him.” (Ps 18:30 ASV)

“10 O ye that love Jehovah, hate evil: He preserveth the souls of his saints; He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. 11 Light is sown for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart.” (Ps 97:10-11 ASV)

“ Do good, O Jehovah, unto those that are good, And to them that are upright in their hearts.” (Ps 125:4 ASV)

We may count on it that the Elohim, if He does not relent, will sharpen His sword and shall react, having prepared His deadly weapons. (Psalm 7:12-13)

Let us not stop to worship the Only One True God, even when others want us to worship other gods and have us to take part in pagan festivals.

Every day we should praise the Only One Most High, God above all gods, for His justice. Let us raise our voices and dare to say

I sing praise to the Name of Adonai Elyon!

“10  My shield is with God, Who saveth the upright in heart. 11 God is a righteous judge, Yea, a God that hath indignation every day.” (Ps 7:10-11 ASV)

“ I will give thanks unto Jehovah according to his righteousness, And will sing praise to the name of Jehovah Most High.” (Ps 7:17 ASV)
