Biblical Basis for Outreach

The Biblical basis for outreach can be traced clearly through both Testaments. From specific commands in regard to “loving your neighbour as yourself ” in Leviticus 19 to Jesus’ fulfilment of this both in parable and in action, we are often instructed as believers to reach out to those around us.

Jesus’ willingness to eat with sinners, heal lepers, and to rebuke evil spirits exemplifies for us that we must reach out not only to those we are comfortable with, but those outside of our community, those in desperate need, those who are disregarded and despised.

We are called to love as God has first loved us: with an overwhelming, encompassing, whole-hearted love. And so, together, we look forward to reaching out to those in need this winter. More details coming soon!
