The 21st of February we read Psalm 90 in our Daily Bible Readings, but in our service this week it has also been a reading we took at heart. This time to remember us that there is only One Eternal Being or God and that people should not forget that Jesus was not eternal. Jehovah God never had a beginning. He has always been, was and always shall be. God did not have a birth nor a death. On the other hand Scriptures tell us that Jesus, like us was already, before Abraham was born, written in the “book of life and death“, and was promised to man long before he came into being (namely in the Garden of Eden after the fall of man). About 2020 years ago, as a solution against the fall of man, Jesus was born, and he as a man of flesh and blood also came to undergo death.
Like it should be for us, for David and for Jesus, the son of David, Jehovah God has been their home [dwelling place; refuge and dwelling place Deuteronomy 33:27] as the Elohim since the beginning [from all generations]. King David, other prophets and Jesus recognized that the Elohim Hashem Jehovah before the mountains came up, and before He created [or brought forth] the earth and the world, the One Whom they looked up at was already God [Proverbs 8:22–31], because He has always been, and He will always be. (Psalm 90:1) His delights also shall always be with the children of Adam (sons of man). (Proverbs 8:22–31)
God sees all our days pass. Our years of being alive here on earth pass quickly [we can even say “fly away”], and then we are gone. (Psalm 90:10) We should know the full power [strength] of That Most Highest Unseen Singular Spirit Being, Source of everything. It is He Who gave power and authority to that son of man, whose so called birthday many celebrate these days. Those celebrating Christmas do forget that God is an eternal Force no man can see and that Christ Jesus is His sent one and only begotten beloved son. Though God can not die, many say Jesus is God, who died for their sins. They do not see that it is the One from above Who sent Jesus, giving him to the world to allow to prove man can keep to God’s commandments.
Jehovah, the God of Christ Jesus was with His beloved son, whom He authorised to speak and act in His name, counting on it that Jesus would declare God His Holy (or set apart) Name. Jesus came to earth and did not mind talking about his heavenly Father and showing others how they could come close to That Most High. It was That Most High Unseen God that turned to the people who wanted to follow His son. It was That heavenly eternal Father Who throughout the ages showed kindness [compassion] to His servants (Psalm 90:13) and was willing to satisfy those willing to listen to His Voice and to His sent ones [prophets like Abraham, Moses, Miriam, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Samuel, Ezekiel, Malachi, Jeshua (better known as Jesus)]. With those who were and are willing to come to Him He is then with His love [loyalty] every morning. (Psalm 90:14)
Especially in these times of trouble we think about Him and how He provided the Saviour Christ Jesus.
We have seen years of trouble [harm; hurt] and do know it is because that son of God that we now may come directly to the God above all gods, the Elohim Hashem Jehovah. Thanks to the present high priest of God, the man who also acts as our mediator, we can ask God to give us as much [many days of] joy as He gave us sorrow [affliction]. (Psalm 90:15; Hebrews 3:1; Hebrews 6:20; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 12:24)
The Unseen God never tells lies. Everything He says is Truth. He also does not change, and would be for one moment an unseen Spirit Being and for another moment a seen being of flesh, blood and bones, like Jesus was a man of flesh and blood. The eternal God is also everywhere at once (or omnipresent) and knows everything (All-knowing). Jesus could not be everywhere and did not know everything, neither could he do everything, whilst for God nothing is to hard to do. Man can do God nothing, though to Christ they could do everything, not just tempting him (God can not be tempted), but going further than bullying Jesus by killing him.
The world has to see how God shows His servants the wonderful things He does [miracles]. By those the world should come to see how Jehovah God His greatness or splendor and beauty are. (Psalm 90:16-17)
These days we not only look extra at Psalm 90 and at texts were is shown how God prepared the world for better times to come, by the acceptance of the sacrificial offering (death) of His only begotten beloved son, Jesus Christ, our saviour.
We, who want to follow the Biblical doctrines, in honesty ask our Most High Lord our God the Elohim Jehovah, to treat us well [favor us]. It is to That God (the eternal God above all gods) that we ask to give us success in what we do. We ask Him to establish the work of our hands for us. We even dare to ask Him to give us success in what we do. When That eternal Elohim Hashem Jehovah God establishes the work of our hands we shall not stop to call Him by His sacred Name and we will sing and rejoice all our days of our life. (Psalm 90:15-17)
