Taking as many opportunities as possible to proclaim the Good News

In the readings of the previous days we heard how the People of God were calling those around them, to return unto Jehovah the Most High God above all gods, for He had ripped them to pieces, but they were also convinced He would heal them and bandage their wounds. (Hosea 6:1-2)

In life, we all walk different paths, some believing in this or that, some having their focus on certain things whilst others focus on something else or on some one. Some like to be guided or find direction by others who do not mind taking the lead. But how many times people wonder if the one they are following would be the right one or the best one to follow?

Sometimes it is like some going aboard of a ship without knowing if the sailor has had the right training to bring them safely over troubled waters. Others give ears to some who seem to be very talkative.

We should know we should give others the opportunity to hear the call of God and to hear the Word of God. The apostle Paul, who lived as a Pharisee according to the strictest party of the Jewish religion, first being against the followers of Christ, got struck and came to understand he too had to go out preaching about Christ. He got hope in the promise made by Jehovah God to the Hebrew fathers, the promise that their twelve tribes hoped to attain as they earnestly served God night and day. He got a godly appearance for the purpose of appointing him as a servant and witness to the things he had seen and to the things God was going to reveal to him. The called Saul was to open the eyes of his people, so that they could turn from darkness to light and from the power of the adversary of God to Jehovah, so that they might receive the forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Christ and his heavenly Father.’ (Acts 26-28; esp. Acts 26:6; Acts 26:16-18; Acts 27:23-24)

As the convert Paul bore witness, all real followers of Christ should make the same steps, not being afraid to open their mouth to tell others about the son of man, who was sent by God and managed to put his own will aside to do the Will of God. We should become like that son of God, putting our own will aside to do God’s Will. Being part of the Body of Christ, being a brother or sister in Christ, demands a life in Christ, with a willingness to come up for Christ.
As Christadelphians we have to be thankful that God’s Word came unto us, but we do have to follow up the task Jesus had given to his disciples. Being a Christian, meaning “a follower of Christ” we do have to follow his orders and as such go out in to the world to tell about him and his heavenly Father. As brother in Christ or sister in Christ we should offer ourselves as servants of Christ bringing forth fruit, as it did also in us since the day we heard of it and knew the grace of God in truth. (Colossians 1:6)

No matter where we are, we should take as many opportunities as possible to proclaim the Good News. Like the apostles in the first century we should not mind to be bold in our strength of God to speak unto many the Gospel of God amidst much contention.
The appeal should not come from delusion or impure motives, nor should it motivated by deceit. We must be sure of what we preach, our message being complete, accurate, and based on the Biblical truth not filled with human doctrines and philosophical thoughts which would not be in accordance with the Holy Scriptures. Just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, that tells the good news of salvation through faith in Christ, so we should speak, not as if we were trying to please people. It may not be to gain power and popularity, but to please God who examines our hearts [expecting our best] and Who is our witness. (1 Thessalonians 2:3-5)

We may find many preachers, mainly in mega-churches, who seek glory and honour from people, and are able to get it as well are able to get a lot of money. Though we as brethren and sisters in Christ may not be liked by the mainstream churches, and them calling us names, we should always behave gently and take care about our words. (Like a devoted mother tenderly caring for her own children. – 1 Thessalonians 2:6-7).

Wherever we may be we have to

“walk worthy of God”

and to present the Word of God like it is written and not how certain people would like it having to say. In our heart and mind there should only be place for the Biblical truth, how much the surrounding people may love so much tradition and man made doctrines.

Being called to holiness (1 Thessalonians 3:13) we should take our task seriously, and should ask God that He shall keep us on the right track. This so that we can continuously strengthen ourselves and others and encourage those around us, exhorting, comforting, and establishing them in regard to their faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these difficulties which shall surround each lover of God here on earth. So that no one will be shaken by these trials,

“for you know well that we are destined for this”. (1 Thessalonians 3:3)

How more the years pass, how more it is urgent to have the witnessing for Jehovah going all over the world. We all should contribute to that worldwide witnessing out of the love for each other and out of the love for Christ and his God.
