Helping to spread the gospel in Thailand

From the Bible Education Centre (BEC) of Chiang Mai

The work of teaching the life-giving gospel in Thailand shifted gears 7 years ago with the establishment of a Bible Education Centre (BEC) in Chiang Mai, in the country’s north. The centre and base for our teaching work, the BEC is a modern home for resident fieldworkers which also doubles as a teaching resource. Over the last 7 years, close to 100 brothers and sisters from 9 countries have lived and worked at the BEC.

In March, 2019, after 11 months at the BEC, a young Australian family was returning home, leaving behind 4 local brothers and sisters and a host of friends. We are now in search of brothers and sisters willing to commit to helping at the BEC. For those with an interest in extending hope to those without it, the work at the BEC is exciting, invigorating and rewarding.

In Chiang Mai, itself, in addition to our small ecclesia, we have developed a group of friends who are intent on learning the true gospel. Our work also involves teaching English through the Bible to new friends. Outside of Chiang Mai, we have friends in a number of other centres within 3 to 6 hours by road from Chiang Mai. In these other localities (in most cases visited multiple times by fieldworkers) we believe we have serious opportunities to bring life and light to those without this wonderful hope. But we need helpers to reach out to our friends in these places and to teach and encourage them. (Visit the blog, acbmthailand@blogspot.com for lots more information.)

Chiang Mai is a comfortable and modern city with first class facilities and services. The BEC, located in a quiet neighborhood, is pleasant, well equipped and with plenty of space (4 bedrooms, upstairs and downstairs study areas and large teaching room). And Thailand, of course, is renowned for its tasty food.
