Looking forward for what is to come

The Holy Bible tells us how God created mankind in His image and how he set a Plan for mankind. Already early in man’s history he rebelled against his Maker. Out of compassion with the weak man, the Supreme Maker provided a solution against the curse of sin and curse of death. When they got expelled from the Garden of Eden they could remember the Curse of God but also the promise of God and live with it.

Several centuries passed before Jehovah God found that the right time had come to sent forth His promised one. That promised one came to tell about his heavenly Father and how man could restore the broken relationship with the Divine Maker and Most High Jehovah God above all gods. This only begotten beloved son proved that it was possible to set the own will aside to do the will of God. Jeshua, or Jesus (like he is better known), wanted everybody to come to know the Only One True God. People had to come to see and understand that the man of flesh and blood standing before them was not only a son of man but also a son of God who was the sent one and authorised one from God, showing the way to God.

Prepared to do the Will of God, he was willing to give his life for the sins of others. Becoming impaled he fulfilled God’s Will and therefore God accepted his ransom offering. Now by one man sin had entered into the world. By that rebellion of man death by sin entered into this world.

“ Therefore, as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin; and so death passed unto all men, for that all sinned:—” (Ro 5:12 ASV)

Jesus bringing a covering of sins opened the way for everybody to God and to His Kingdom. By Jesus his death the way to salvation came over mankind. He explained matters which seemed still unclear for those living at the time the Romans where master in Jerusalem. He showed those looking for liberation of the Romans that it was much better to look for the right way of living and asked them to come to recognise him as the way to life. We too have to see that the wages of sin is death; but that we have God His sent one as a gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23) There should not be any separation any more from God. But it is each individual who has to make his or her own free choice to come closer to God.

Whatever happens, whichever way way live and behave, we all shall still have to face death. But now there is the promise and gift of Salvation by the blood of Christ in which we can find hope and look for what shall happen when Jesus returns. It might well be that we have to suffer a lot in this life, but we should know that this life is just a very short period compared with what we can get if we live according to God’s Will. Though we may not forget that Jeshua (or Jesus) asked his followers to become like one family, united like he is united with his heavenly Father. United under Christ we can help each other to be strengthened for the difficult times to come.

“ For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us-ward.” (Ro 8:18 ASV)

We all have to live with our various bodily afflictions, physical disabilities, limitations, and the like, and should know that there is going to come a severe time of tribulation. Though we have the assurance for those who believe in Jesus Christ, him being the son of God and for those who live according to the commandments of his God, that there shall come better times, when being judged and accepted by Jesus Christ to enter the Kingdom of God.

In case you do not want to belong to those who receive a second death, you should make the right choices in your life. Every person in the world should be able to find the keys to enter that Kingdom. Therefore try to find the key in the infallible Word of God, the Bible. From that book of books, a bestseller of all times, you can learn all what you need to become a partaker of the body of Christ and to become some one who as a partaker of a heavenly calling, shall be allowed to enter the Kingdom of God. God does not want you to just sit and wait, but wants you to be active and to live according to His Will.
Jesus explained what God wants from man and how man can live up to the will of God. He himself proved that it is possible for man to do the Will of God. At no time did God ever asked something which would not have been possible to do by man. Those who say Jesus has to be God because nobody can keep God His commandments, or can be without sin, in a way claim than that God gave man rules or commandments he knew man could never keep. That would make Him in a terrible unrighteous and unloving god. Because our not living according to God’s commandments makes us sinning and undergoing the consequences of sin, which is suffering and death. It is now you have to make it. You can not wait until the future would bring you a better moment to change. Jesus tells in his parables about the danger for those who wait or think they do still have enough time. Be aware.

God has given you life to live in the present, not to live in some future. Each creature has the possibility to make something of his or her life. It is in your lifetime that you have to find the “key to heaven” or the “key to eternal peace”. It is now that you have to find what the principles are which were taught and exemplified by Jesus.

The key of life is

We should know that the time is near and that we should be prepared. Therefore let us not loose time and repent and turn to God, trusting that our sins would be washed away.

“19 Repent ye therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that so there may come seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord; 20 and that he may send the Christ who hath been appointed for you, even Jesus: 21 whom the heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, whereof God spake by the mouth of His holy prophets that have been from of old.” (Ac 3:19-21 ASV)

Let us not wait to unite with those who want to go through life as brothers and sisters calling on the name of Christ.

“ unto the church of God which is at Corinth, even them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, their Lord and ours:” (1Co 1:2 ASV)

Believing that the sanctified who call on Jesus’ name have received grace (charis) and have been “enriched in every way”—especially in “speech and knowledge of every kind” (GW) we have the hope for the gift of grace and look forward to Jesus coming back on earth to judge the living and the dead. Whilst we in the meantime shall be able to stand strong by the Power of God.

“4 I thank {1 } my God always concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus; {1) Some ancient authorities omit my }5 that in everything ye were enriched in him, in all {1 } utterance and all knowledge; {1) Gr word }6 even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ; 8 who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye be unreproveable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1Co 1:4-8 ASV)

“21 Now he that establisheth us with you {1 } in Christ, and anointed us, is God; {1) Gr into }22 {1 } who also sealed us, and gave us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. {1) Or seeing that he both sealed us } (2Co 1:21-22 ASV)

Therefore we shall

  • Building ourselves up in our most holy faith
  • Keeping ourselves in God’s love (Jude 1:20-21, Romans 8:35-39)
  • Eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed
  • Remaining strong to the end
  • Being kept blameless until the day of Jesus Christ
  • Always willing to live according Jesus and God their commandments
