WCF is funding two Australian mission workers, Sam and Abi McGeorge to assist in the launch of the Youth Leadership Program, an Agape-in-Action project in western Kenya.
A group of 40-50 Kenyan youth with leadership potential, who have finished high school and are looking to further their education will be selected to participate in the 6 month program. With a Christian centered focus, these young people will develop useful vocational and living skills that will encourage self-sufficiency and enable these future leaders to serve as role models in their ecclesias
and communities. Practical skills will include farming, mechanics, tailoring, first aid, plumbing and carpentry.
Sam and Abi McGeorge will spend 4 months in Kenya, involved in a feasibility study, and establishing a short-term pilot program that will encourage student feedback and enable development of
the final curriculum.
The site for the Leadership Program will be at the AinA high school facility in Kamakuywa. The McGeorges will also be involved in assessing the costs and plans to renovate the building to function in its new role and as a multipurpose center for other AinA projects.
