Today’s thought by the French elections and right-wing populism in the world

Today’s thought

“Taking Christ as our example”

(May 8)

Yesterday the far right and populist party of Marine Le Pen did not reach the necessary votes to have her on the presidential seat. But her 1/3rd brought lots of French voters to give a signal to show the world that certain people are not wanted in France nor in Europe.

Many of those voters who want action taken against those asylum seekers and refugees from many countries with mainly a Muslim background. Though lots of those right wing voters in France, Belgium and Holland call themselves Christian, we can see that they do not take an attitude Christ Jesus would take.

Today’s attitude is not one of brotherly love nor of openness of mind and openness for others. We can wonder how many today in Europe are willing to follow Christ Jesus as their example. Lots of people tell others lots of nonsense about other believers and blacken all Muslims as if they would all be terrorists. Most often we can see that it are those who turned away from the faith, but still call themselves Christian, though never practising their faith, are the most active to spot with other believers.

2 Peter 2:21 (TS98)
21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the set-apart command delivered unto them.

Most people today are in the flesh and are not as such to have the Spirit of יהוה {Jehovah} dwelling in them. They may call themselves Christian but even the Spirit of the Messiah is also not dwelling in them. (Romans 8:9) We are surrounded by those who live to serve themselves, especially their pleasures! Most of all they would love to see the politicians to secure all those pleasures for them.

They have no ear for the apostle Paul who asks his pupils from Corinth to be imitators of him, as he is of Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). We can not see many in high position or wanting to lead the nation to  be imitators of Christ. We can nearly say “none of them” are interested in taking an example in Christ. They too show not much interest in the way how the Nazarene rabbi illustrated in his life how he respected all creatures of God and showed his love by his actions, his spirit of compassion – even as they were leading him to the cross. His was the ultimate example that Paul was following.

When we hear about all those who want others to believe all Muslims are terrorists and all refugees are ‘profiteurs’ as a wise man we should know in our heart when it is the right time and method for action (Ecclesiastes 8:5-6) For sure we should know it is getting high time that we start showing people the Way to God, and let them know how we should follow that Nazarene master teacher and that we have to give hands to our brethren and sisters in the world not having them to separate us from the love of Christ. (Romans 8:35,39).

Let those who call themselves Christian show to the world how they as imitators of Christ are ready to stretch out their hands to those in need and to those who are looking for ways to make the best out of their life.
