From the beginning of 2012, mission workers have been teaching the gospel in Chiang Mai and other areas of northern Thailand. With two local brothers and one local sister (two sisters have moved from Chiang Mai since being baptized) the Christadelphians have the nucleus of a team with a strong sense of who they are and what they can do to help with this important work.
But for the work to continue in this part of the vineyard, willing hands are greatly needed.
As of the end of October, we have no fieldworkers scheduled to come to the BEC for the rest of 2016. Won’t someone come and help? Truly, the harvest is great and the labourers few. It is our ardent hope and prayer that the Lord of the harvest will send us help.
Located in Chiang Mai, the heart of Thailand‘s northern capital, the BEC has many challenges. Among them is the need to balance the demands of the work at the BEC with that in other parts of northern Thailand and nearby countries where we have many friends. These other areas open wide our opportunities. Our goal has always been is to apportion resources to the most promising of them. (Visit http://www.acbmthailand.blogspot.com to read more about our work.)
Each of these areas offers counterpoints and contrasts to the others. In this variety there is something for everyone. Whether in the comfortable, suburban setting of the BEC in Chiang Mai or on the timber-floor bed in the primitive village of Htee Hta No in Mae Hong Son Province, or in a more manageable guesthouse in Mae Na Chon, in Chiang Mai Province, there are open doors, real interest in the word of God and smiling faces.
The Christadelphians have begun scratching the surface in these places and there is much more to do. Please give serious thought to how you can help. Where there is a will there is bound to be a way. May the Lord of the harvest inspire you to come over to lend a hand.
