Lots of people wait and wait before making a decision. Concerning the choice of faith many procrastinate. They want to postpone their decision to which faith they want to belong, because they consider it not so important or not necessary to show others soon enough their choice for some faith.
After having prorogued for some time at last people come to understand they may not longer protract such a thing as “faith” because they come to understand it might be much more important than the majority of the world thinks. Not postponing any more they ask to be baptised and then they feel how warmly they are greeted and find a whole new experience in a small but lively, friendly community.
For the community such a person often also may contribute a lot. It can be a fresh wind blowing again some dust away in a community.
But also for youngsters and older people it may be worth thinking about the shortness of life and how important it might be not to delay the joining of a community or showing the world for what one stands. We never know when life goes to end and be sure it also can come to an end at a very young age.
Our brothers in Cansas may have encountered such a sad experience.
Bro. Chad Reed of Kansas City, age 41 and beloved son of Bro. Carl Reed, passed away suddenly in his Kansas City home on October 22, 2016. He was baptized in July 2014. He always brought a glad and joyful countenance to their Sunday meetings. He was a kind, compassionate brother who savored the love and grace we find in our Lord, and shared it freely with all those he knew.
Condolences may be sent to:
Bro. Carl Reed
