Displeasure of יהוה , Jehovah the God of gods, and His wrath against all the gentiles their divisions

Isa 34:1 Come near, you gentiles, to hear. And listen, you people! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, the world and all its offspring.
Isa 34:2 For the displeasure of יהוה {Jehovah}is against all the gentiles1, and His wrath against all their divisions. He shall put them under the ban, He shall give them over to the slaughter, Footnote: 1See footnote Jer. 30:11.
Isa 34:3 and their slain be thrown out, and their stench rise from their corpses. And mountains shall be melted with their blood.
Isa 34:4 And all the host of the heavens shall rot away. And the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll, and all their host fade like a leaf fading on the vine, and like the fading one of a fig tree.

Isa 34:5 “For My sword shall be drenched in the heavens. Look, it comes down on Eḏom, and on the people of My curse, for judgment.

Isa 34:6 “The sword of יהוה {Jehovah} shall be filled with blood, it shall be made overflowing with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. For יהוה {Jehovah} has a slaughtering in Botsrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Eḏom.
Isa 34:7 “And wild oxen shall come down with them, and young bulls with bulls. And their land shall be drenched with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.”
Isa 34:8 For it is the day of the vengeance of יהוה {Jehovah} , the year of recompense for the cause of Tsiyon.
Isa 34:9 And its streams shall be turned into tar, and its dust into sulphur, and its land shall become burning tar,
Isa 34:10 that is not quenched night or day, its smoke going up forever. From generation to generation it lies waste, no one passes through it forever and ever,
Isa 34:11 so that the pelican and the porcupine possess it, also the owl and the raven dwell in it. And He shall stretch out over it the line of formlessness and stones of emptiness.
Isa 34:12 Its caves, with no one in them, is called a reign, but all its rulers have vanished.
Isa 34:13 And thorns shall come up in its palaces, nettles and brambles in its strongholds. And it shall be a home for jackals, a courtyard for ostriches.
Isa 34:14 And the wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the jackals, and the shaggy goat call to its companion. The night creature shall also settle there, and shall find for herself a place of rest.
Isa 34:15 The arrow snake shall nest there, and lay eggs and hatch, and gather them under her shadow. There too the vultures shall gather, each with its mate.

Isa 34:16 Search from the book of יהוה {Jehovah}, and read: not one of these shall be missing, not one shall be without a mate, for He has commanded my mouth. And His Spirit shall gather them.
Isa 34:17 And He shall cast the lot for them, and His hand shall divide it among them with a measuring line – they possess it forever, from generation to generation they dwell in it.

Judgment Against the Nations (Isaiah 34)
Why is the Lord this angry with “all nations” (verse 2; see also Isaiah 10:5 – 19, for the example of Assyria)? What modern political and military leaders does that example bring to mind? What is Isaiah’s purpose in doing so in such graphic detail?

How would you explain God’s justice to someone if there was no prospect of judgment? How is His wrath related to His love? What does it mean to you that God will fight this hard to save you?
none will miss her mate
Isaiah challenges us from his standpoint in the past. He tells us who live in his distant future to call out (read) his words, and check for their fulfilment. He speaks of the predictions as if they were female animals, and says that none will miss her mate. In other words, each thing predicted will find its fulfilment. We know now how absolutely right he was. But Isaiah lived long before these things came about. His assurance that each of his predictions would be fulfilled was the assurance of faith.
up in smoke
Edom’s coming judgment is described as if God is planning a sacrifice. The whole land will be bloody and filled with fat from the slaughtered corpses. Then it will all be consumed on a sacrificial altar, and the LORD will be pleased by the smell of the smoke going up into the sky forever. This is not a picture of eternal torment. Those sacrificial animals were not being perpetually tortured. They were killed, and the evidence of their destruction (the smoke) pleased God. That is how sacrifices worked.

Isaiah is also the first to use the metaphor of an unquenchable fire here. He says of that fire “night and day it will not be quenched (10).” But the context makes it clear that the fire continues as long as it takes to consume all the people in the land. The final state of Edom was not one of perpetual burning. The same verse speaks of Edom being left desolate and abandoned, in ruins.
dissolving the sky army
Isaiah uses apocalyptic imagery to describe judgment upon Edom. Edom is only one of many nations presently under Yahveh’s ban, and all of those nations would eventually be overcome by the Assyrian and Babylonian empires. They are devoted to destruction. But, before God destroys them, he will first defeat their sky army. There is a battle going on in the sky, dissolving the sky army, and then the sword of the LORD will descend and annihilate Edom.
The Wrath of God

God’s wrath in the Old Testament gives us examples of His tolerance for disobedience and sin. In the Old Testament, we can see God’s balance between love and justice and mercy. When Egypt held the Jews in captivity and in the fullness of time God when reached out to save his people, the Egyptians received God’s wrath. Psalm 78:43-48,
Wrath of God
The natural use and the wrath of God. “For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them” (Romans 1:18-19, KJV). Paul opens up this first chapter of the book of Romans, warning us of the consequences of living ungodly and unrighteous lives when we know the truth of our God.
Flee the Wrath to Come
The people of God forgot who they were, they forgot that without God they would indeed have died in the wilderness, but, more importantly, they would still be slaves in Egypt. When the plague of snakes comes upon them and they begin to die in their sin, they cry out, they do not want to suffer the wrath of God, we hear them then: “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. (NKJV) There is an important lesson for us here. It was the people of God, not some strangers outside the camp, it was the people of God who were rebellious, and who sinned against God and Moses. Please note too that although they asked for the snakes to be taken away, God instead gave them a way out, He did not take away the snakes.
Why Serve The Lord?
Pride and self-exaltation skyrocketing beyond the stars, every so-called earthly potentate guilty of such crimes have exhibited character traits comparable to malignant narcissism and the devil himself.
