Fulfilment

As we showed in the previous chapters several men of God knew their position very well and where convinced they needed the Most High Creator of all things. Even the son of God never claimed to be able to do something without the Force of his Father. He too often prayed for extended periods of time (Luke 6:12). Many times Jesus withdrew himself to be alone with his Father, but on many occasions he also took his disciples with him to pray to God. The apostles and their followers also created small groups where reading the Scriptures and praying played an important role. The early church “devoted themselves to prayer” (Acts 2:42). The apostles saw devotion to prayer as one of their primary responsibilities as leaders of the church (Acts 6:4). It was Cornelius’ continued prayers that brought Peter to his house (Acts 10:4).
At the time of the prophets we could see how God responded to the earnest prayers of those who were willing to have God as their most important leader. But the answering of prayers did not end by the death of the promised Messiah. Even after the apostles saw that Jesus his promise of a Comforter came true, they did not abandon their times of prayer. In the years afterwards, on request of the apostles and people around them praying for the early church, this Church could grow. And those imprisoned for their believes could after their prayers even find their prison chains broken (Acts 12:4-7).
In the letters of the apostles we can find that they prayed continually for the ecclesiae or churches, and Paul exhorted them to do the same (Romans 1:10; 12:12; 15:30; 1 Corinthians 7:5; Ephesians 1:16; 6:18; Philippians 4:6; Col 4:2, 12; 1 Thessalonians 1:2; 1 Timothy 2:1; 5:5; Philemon 1:4, 22).
In the Scriptures we can find a clear command regarding prayer and regard the attitude we should take onto God. {See the concerning chapter.}

As we told before many people who do pray use this only to ask God for certain things to benefit them. Then never consider what they have to do for God and often are not so much interested in the Word of God. Lots of people do want the support of the Most High, but would not accept His position really. Many dare even to make other gods next to the Most High. Even under the so called Christians there are those who take Jesus to be God, taking him as god the son, but still use pictures, statues and other things (graven images) in their worship. They even bow down and go onto their knees in front of crosses; though according to the Holy Scriptures such moves are an abomination in the eyes of God.
Lots of Christians do forget that in many cases there is a condition for praying and that God does not accept just any form of worship. God is the same today and tomorrow, so He is still the same as in Abraham‘s time. The Holy Scriptures are clear, telling us that the Creator of heaven and earth never changes, nor will go back on His Word.
Already in the time of Cain and Abel God showed how conscious He was for the right offering.
We may not forget that praying should be a sign that the person who prays does believe in the One Whom he or she talks to. But the prayer should also be an agreeing with the Will of God. We should not pray to get what we want, but to get what God wants for us or for those for whom we pray. We cannot change God’s mind but we should pray for Him to change our mind and to come to our help for our best. Our sight must be on God and not on our challenges.
Christians and everyone who call on God His name should praise Him for who He is; a loving, forgiving Father who will never run out of Grace and Love.
In Psalms 1:1 we read,
“Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”
Which is God’s condition for him to support us?
God promises always to support His children, but we must understand as Christians, the full gospel.
“If we do what is right we will be accepted, but if we do what is wrong sin is at our doors wanting to have rule over us. Let us; therefore, do what is right, that God may support us according to His promises. God bless you my friends and pray always for each other.
“Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness.” Martin Luther
Let prayer be something that pervades our whole day, even in the midst of our business. We don’t need loads of words – just hold our problems up to God. Spend some time praying the promises of the Bible; turn our focus God wards away from the difficulties that are seemingly so insurmountable.
Let prayer be an ongoing process that may take time to see change in our circumstances and change in ourselves.
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7

Why bother with praying or studying it? It is a fair question to ask. For Christians, prayer is important because it turns a one-sided conversation into a two-sided conversation. The Bible tells us to cast our anxieties on God (1 Peter 5:6-10), and prayer is directly connected to a “peace that surpasses all understanding,” (Philippians 4:4-9). - Praying to the Holy Spirit for physical healing (disciplesofhope.wordpress.com)

- Our Community (themodernekklesia.wordpress.com)
Ekklesia (the name of this blog) means Church, more specifically it literally references to “the called out ones.” We are people called to be holy by walking in obedience and by having Christ’s righteousness merited to us. The only thing that forms community is the Gospel! Without Jesus at the center of our community, even more importantly our Church, we have simply become apart of just another social circle and we have become people who are more concerned with the social aspect of community than the Gospel forming community. The average American spends almost four hours a day on social media reading what other people think, do and experience… but only stare at a screen. We feel connected through social media because of what sociologists call “group think”. We for a circle of people via social media that think what we think, like what we like and do what we do or often times want to do. Is this community? Is this healthy?
