Trusting, Faith, Calling and Ascribing to Jehovah #15 Exposition before the Creator

Exposition before the Creator

Our prayer life leaves us entirely exposed before that Creator whose name is to be hallowed. We reverence His name, ask for him to come, plead for help physically, and acknowledge our desperate inadequacies.

We should be hoping that Jehovah God reveals Himself to us so that we get to know exactly who God is. Our hope should be that Jehovah His name may be honoured and that His kingdom may come, and His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. (Matthew 6:9-10)

We also should acknowledge that the Kingdom, the power, and the glory are forever of God. (Matthew 6:13; 1 Chronicles 29:11; Daniel 4:30; Daniel 4:34.) The “greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty the riches and honour the power and might” of Jehovah should be things we look at. For He is the One who has all the right to decide everything and to reign the whole universe.

“(13) ‘And do not lead us into trial, {1} but deliver us from the wicked one – because Yours is the reign and the power and the esteem, forever. Amĕn.’ {Footnote: 1 See 26:41.} (Matthew 6:13 The Scriptures 1998+)

“(11) “Yours, O יהוה {Jehovah}, is the greatness, the power and the comeliness, the pre-eminence and the excellency, because of all that is in the heavens and in the earth. Yours is the reign, O יהוה {Jehovah}, and You are exalted as head above all.” (1 Chronicles 29:11 The Scriptures 1998+)

In our daily works and in our prayer we should recognise that all things that are in heaven and earth are the work of God His Hands, and that to Him belongs the ruling over everything.

In our prayer we should show thankfulness by giving thanks and expression of the infinite perfections of God, looking in esteem for God in His unspeakable grandeur, His universal dominion, His absolute ownership. Showing preparedness to come to God in His covenant relation. Recognising God in His goodness to men.

In our prayers it is not bad to show our awareness of the peculiar relations of man to the infinite God and giving expression of our dependent creature, dependent for substance to give, dependent for the disposition to give it and therefore indebted to God for all things.

Knowing that we are just short-lived creatures dependant on the Will of God to let us stay alive or to come into the Kingdom of God we can express our hope to be moulded or made by God so that we may be worthy to enter that Kingdom of God.

Man’s conduct is observed by God. He is our Father, and thus desires to give good gifts to his children (Matt. 7:11), and he is in heaven, and thus has the authority to do so (2 Chronicles 20:6; Psalm 115:3). We are to worship our Father every time we pray. He is holy, and we should recognize it. We should also pray that His perfect will be done as He brings His kingdom into this world. “Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven” is not a denial that Jesus has brought God’s kingdom into the world, but it is rather a request that God His kingdom would come in its fullness, so that earth and heaven would of one accord do all things to the praise of his glorious grace.

“Give us this day our daily bread” is recognition that only God can provide our daily needs. It is also a demonstration of trust, putting our hope on Him as the only One who can provide the necessary things for us.

Looking at the birds and animals around us we know that we should not worry so much for what the future may bring for us. But in our prayer we let God know that we are willing to give ourselves in His Hands so that He can take care of us and provide those things which are good for us. We trust that God will provide for our needs one day at a time (Luke 12:27-31).

A condition often forgotten about prayer is the willingness to admit that we are sometimes useless people. In prayer we should come up to the Father and admit the things we have done wrong. Our conscience may prompt us to confess our sins and shortcomings that there would be no insulation between us and God. For all those things we have done wrong we should show regret and ask for forgiveness. But we ourselves should also be forgiving others. That is not always easy and therefore we can ask God to help us to take on the right attitude to others.

To be able to forgive others we often do need to put our own ego aside. This might be one of the biggest challenges God set before his children. Jehovah teaches us that we should be submissive to His will and we have the natural desire to be selfish which makes that a great challenge for us to overcome. God also wants all of us to love one another unconditionally, to be as the children of God he designed us to be. He put the challenges of different colours, languages, culture and even religious beliefs between us in order to teach us how to love one another in an unconditional manner. Without challenges for the human spirit there is no growth or change. He wishes for us to grow both mentally and spiritually. He demands that we deal with our Ego or the self in the right way. He also wants that we get to know ourselves and that we shall want to see our own faults, even more than we see the faults of others. In case we see the wrong in others we should not only try to overcome them, but we should forgive their trespasses. We don’t deserve forgiveness, yet our Father forgives us when we confess our sins. So also, we must forgive, for we have been much forgiven.

Temptation - Female Slender Legs And Red Panties
Temptation – Female Slender Legs And Red Panties

There are lots of evil, wicked words and wicked works in the world and we often are confronted with it. We have to endure many temptations and facing many problems it does not make live always easy. Therefore we can ask help from God, so that He can provide us with the means to conquer those difficulties. Every day we do hope we can face the world and keep looking forward to gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that we may know the mystery of God, both of YHWH, Jehovah the Father and of Messiah, in whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge hidden. (Colossians 2:2-3)

We should ask God to lead us not into temptation, but to deliver us from evil.

“(13) ‘And do not lead us into trial, {1} but deliver us from the wicked one – because Yours is the reign and the power and the esteem, forever. Amĕn.’ {Footnote: 1 See 26:41.}” (Mat 6:13 The Scriptures 1998+)

“(4) who gave Himself for our sins, to deliver us out of this present wicked age, according to the desire of our Elohim and Father,” (Galatians 1:4 The Scriptures 1998+)

“(19) “When anyone hears the word of the reign, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is that sown by the wayside.” (Matthew 13:19 The Scriptures 1998+)

“(38) And the field is the world. And the good seed, these are the sons of the reign, but the darnel are the sons of the wicked one,” (Matthew 13:38 The Scriptures 1998+)

“(8) See to it that no one makes a prey of you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary matters of the world,{1} and not according to Messiah. {Footnote: 1 See v. 20, and Gal. 4:3 & 9.}” (Colossians 2:8 The Scriptures 1998+)

Sin- Love Triangle
Sin- Love Triangle

Facing all evil we know that the true life can only be a life for God and in God. In our prayer we can show God that we understand that our life to and in God is only possible in Christ. For however noble and clear a plan God in law and providence may set before us, still sin can prevent us following the plan. It is not because we are baptised that we would not be able to be tempted or not go wrong. Every day we do have to work at ourselves and proof before God that we can stay on the right track. In our prayers we can ask God to help us to stay on that right strait path to the small gate to enter the Kingdom of God.

Even when baptised we still can do many faults and therefore we must have the forgiveness of sin, the promise of the Holy Spirit, the assurance of a Divine grace strong enough to conquer sin, of a power surrounding our life and keeping us close to God, in spite of all our weakness and all our sin; and this we can only have in a personal relation of faith to Christ our Saviour and to the most Holy father of Christ, who is also our Father in heaven.

We have received the Grace of God by Jeshua the Messiah. We should let our moral life in Christ Jesus be in harmony with the teaching through which we received him as lord; being firmly rooted and built up in him, established in faith as we were taught, abounding in thankfulness. In our prayers we may ask Jehovah God to let no one lead us away as his prey by any empty sham that he may recommend as ‘philosophy’ drawn from human tradition, with the elemental spirits of the world and not Christ for its content. And that brings us to the last conditions of prayer, namely that we may not mix our prayers with traditions which are not according to God His Laws and Regulations. We may not pray to death people or go to witches or wicked people, or join celebrations for false gods. This makes it so important that we should be careful also wit so called traditional ‘Christian’ festivals like Christmas and Easter which are finding their origin in heathen festivals. As good Christians we better take distance of such feast and keep to the festivals installed by God.

Every time we pray we should consider that it is in the right place at the right time, that we use words which come from our heart and are well meant. Best each prayer session includes every aspect of what a healthy prayer looks like: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, and Supplication.

The Lord's Prayer (1886-1896) from the series ...
Jesus learned his disciples to pray like we should do, saying to the God of Abraham and the God of Jesus: “Our Father”

Jehovah God provided a Saviour, Jeshua, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, who now sits at the right hand of God to be our “mediator” to “represent” us in front of his Holy Father, the Only One True God. As we pray we should ask God to listen to our prayers in Jesus his name. To our Father we give notice that we would like to have Jesus as the best “mediator” and that we have put trust in the works Jesus has done for us. When we say “In Jesus name I pray” We’re asking Jesus to mediate with God for us, to represent us! It is showing to Jesus that we accept his offering and to God that we are thankful that Jehovah wanted to take Jesus his flesh and blood, for our sin as a payment, a ransom forever.

  • Matthew 6:10 “Thy kingdom come and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (psalms91911.com)
Jesus is telling us to ask God to manifest his kingdom here on earth, just like it is in heaven.  Why would he ask us to pray like that if he didn’t intend his kingdom to be placed here on earth?   Jesus did not say this to make the prayer sounded good, He used these precise word because that is exactly what he meant.

To pray, “Hallowed is thy name” is to pray with an awareness of who God is. We are praying to our Heavenly Father, who is the God who can meet every need in our lives.

  • The Christian Statesman: Thy Kingdom Come (reformedchristianheritage.wordpress.com)
There is a hesitancy, a timidity, and a cowardice with respect to this great truth that is to us both amazing and painful; a cowardice that cuts the sinews of the Church’s strength, and keeps back the day of her universal triumph. It is an absolute submission that Christianity demands; it knows neither truce nor compromise; it proclaims a war of absolute extermination against every opposing system, and will not rest in its aggressive career until all things are put under the feet of its exalted King. We must demand not only of every individual heart, absolute submission to the law of Christ–but to every institution, to every organization, ecclesiastical or civil, we must say, “Kiss the Son lest he be angry and ye perish from the way when his wrath is kindled but a little.” As Christians we mean to conquer the world; we mean that Christ shall be crowned Lord of all; we mean not only that the name of Jesus shall be known but that His authority shall be recognized as far as the course of the sun; and this purpose should not only be uppermost in the mind and heart of every Christian, but should be boldly proclaimed.

  • Article of Faith: Seeing the Kingdom of God, by Femi Aribisala (naijaobserver.wordpress.com)
One of those things I questioned was Jesus’ statement to his disciples that many of them would not die until they saw the kingdom of God. But, I thought, all his disciples are dead. According to church history, all but one was martyred. And yet, the kingdom of God has still not arrived. After all, the church is still following the prayer guide of the Lord, which says: “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10).
