Trusting, Faith, Calling and Ascribing to Jehovah #5 Prayer #2 Witnessing

Witness and Praise for the Name

Every day we should remember our Creator. We also should try to hear His Voice, which He shall let His people hear. Because He is willing to hear we should be willing to speak. We can talk to Him with simple words, spoken or we can even sing to Him. We can speak quietly or loud to Him. We may shout in praise of Jehovah His Name.

In the Bible we can find many places where is given the advice to let the Name of God be known all over the world and to proclaim the good news every day… the news of how He brings salvation. To all the nations we should tell of His glory, and speak of His wonders to the peoples. Jehovah is great and worthy of praise; He’s more to be feared than all other gods. For, the gods of the nations are all fake ones, made up gods by people or just transitory idols. But it’s Jehovah who created the heavens and who is everlasting. Before Him are beauty and praises; holy and majestic is His Sacred Place.

1 Sing to יהוה {Jehovah} a new song, Sing to יהוה {Jehovah}, all the earth! 2 Sing to יהוה {Jehovah}, bless His Name, Proclaim His deliverance from day to day. 3 Declare His esteem among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. 4 For great is יהוה {Jehovah} and greatly to be praised, He is to be feared above all mighty ones. 5 For all the mighty ones of the peoples are matters of naught, But יהוה {Jehovah} made the heavens. (Psalms 96:1-5 The Scriptures 1998+)

No language barrier

No matter of which nation we are or which language we speak, we can talk to God in our own words in our own language. For Him there are no language barriers. He understands not only the words of the people He even knows the heart of them, and nothing can be hidden for Him.

But יהוה {Jehovah} said to Shemu’ĕl, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him, for not as man sees, for man looks at the eyes, but יהוה {Jehovah} looks at the heart.” (1 Samuel 16:7 The Scriptures 1998+)

“I, יהוה {Jehovah}, search the heart, I try the kidneys, and give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds. (Jeremiah 17:10 The Scriptures 1998+)

“He reveals deep and secret matters. He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him. (Daniel 2:22 The Scriptures 1998+)

“For whatever is hidden shall be revealed, and whatever is secret shall be known and come to light. (Luke 8:17 The Scriptures 1998+)

In our own tongue, in our own way of speaking can we speak to the Most High Elohim and carry gifts to Jehovah; bringing Him both glory and honour, for the sake of His Name.

We should bow low before Jehovah and tell all the nations that He Jehovah is our Mightiest King of kings! It is He who established man’s home, so it will never be shaken. For, He will judge the peoples in justice!

At the presence of יהוה {Jehovah}. For He shall come, For He shall come to judge the earth. He judges the world in righteousness {1}, And the peoples with His truth. {Footnote: 1See also 98:9, Acts 17:31, Rev. 19:11.} (Psalms 96:13 The Scriptures 1998+)

9 Bow yourselves to יהוה {Jehovah}, In the splendour of set-apartness! Tremble before Him, all the earth. 10 Say among nations, “יהוה {Jehovah} shall reign. The world also is established, immovable. He judges the peoples in straightness.” 11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; 12 Let the field exult, and all that is in it. Let all the trees of the forest then shout for joy, 13 At the presence of יהוה {Jehovah}. For He shall come, For He shall come to judge the earth. He judges the world in righteousness {1}, And the peoples with His truth. {Footnote: 1See also 98:9, Acts 17:31, Rev. 19:11.} (Psalms 96:9-13 The Scriptures 1998+)

Make vows to יהוה {Jehovah} your Elohim, and pay them. Let all who are around Him bring presents To the One to be feared. (Psalms 76:11 The Scriptures 1998+)

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You judge the peoples uprightly, And lead the nations on earth. Selah. (Psalms 67:4 The Scriptures 1998+)

9 They do no evil nor destroy in all My set-apart mountain, for the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of יהוה {Jehovah} as the waters cover the sea {1}. {Footnote: 1Hab. 2:14.} 10 And in that day there shall be a Root of Yishai, standing as a banner to the people. Unto Him the gentiles {1} shall seek, and His rest shall be esteem. {Footnote: 1Or nations.} 11 And it shall be in that day that יהוה {Jehovah} sets His hand again a second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from Ashshur and from Mitsrayim, from Pathros and from Kush, from Ěylam and from Shinʽar, from Ḥamath and from the islands of the sea. 12 And He shall raise a banner for the nations, and gather the outcasts of Yisra’ĕl, and assemble the dispersed of Yehuḏah from the four corners of the earth. 13 And the envy of Ephrayim shall turn aside, and the adversaries of Yehuḏah be cut off. Ephrayim shall not envy Yehuḏah, and Yehuḏah not trouble Ephrayim.
14 But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Philistines toward the west; together they plunder the people of the east, their hand stretching forth on Eḏom and Mo’aḇ, and the children of Ammon shall be subject to them. 15 And יהוה {Jehovah} shall put under the ban the tongue of the Sea of Mitsrayim, and He shall wave His hand over the River with the might of His Spirit, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and shall cause men to tread it in sandals. 16 And there shall be a highway for the remnant of His people, those left from Ashshur, as it was for Yisra’ĕl in the day when he came up from the land of Mitsrayim.  (Isaiah 11:9-16 The Scriptures 1998+)

Say among nations, “יהוה {Jehovah} shall reign. The world also is established, immovable. He judges the peoples in straightness.” (Psalms 96:10 The Scriptures 1998+)

6  The heavens shall declare His righteousness, And all the peoples shall see His esteem. 7 All are put to shame who serve carved images, Those boasting of matters of naught. Bow yourselves to Him, all you mighty ones. 8  Tsiyon shall hear and be glad, And the daughters of Yehuḏah rejoice Because of Your right-rulings, O יהוה {Jehovah}  9  For You, {Jehovah} יהוה, are the Most High over all the earth, You shall be greatly exalted, over all mighty ones. 10  You who love יהוה {Jehovah} , hate evil! He guards the lives of His kind ones, He delivers them out of the hand of the wrong. 11  Light is sown for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart. 12  Rejoice in יהוה {Jehovah} , you righteous, And give thanks at the remembrance of His Set-apartness. (Psalms 97:6-12 The Scriptures 1998+)

5 Sing to יהוה {Jehovah} with the lyre, With the lyre and the voice of a song, 6 With trumpets and the sound of a horn; Raise a shout before יהוה {Jehovah}, the Sovereign. 7 Let the sea roar, and all that fills it, The world and those who dwell in it. 8 Let the rivers clap their hands, Let the mountains sing together for joy before יהוה {Jehovah}, 9 For He shall come to judge the earth. He judges the world in righteousness, And the people in straightness. (Psalms 98:5-9 The Scriptures 1998+)

  • Jehovah-Compound Names of God (reflectgrace.wordpress.com)
YHWH / YAHWEH / JEHOVAH:LORD” (Deuteronomy 6:4;Daniel 9:14) – strictly speaking, the only proper name for God. Translated in English Bibles “LORD” (all capitals) to distinguish it fromAdonai, “Lord.” The revelation of the name is first given to Moses “I Am who I Am” (Exodus 3:14). This name specifies an immediacy, a presence. Yahweh is present, accessible, near to those who call on Him for deliverance (Psalm 107:13), forgiveness (Psalm 25:11) and guidance (Psalm 31:3).
  • Has anyone else noticed the profound disrespect (thevoiceofmary.wordpress.com)
Has anyone else noticed the profound disrespect given to our creator and his great name? When we deliberately misuse God’s name Jehovah, then we treat Jehovah with such disdain. When we attribute shameful motives to God, then dishonor is heaped upon our heavenly Father. When we deny him, by our failure to use his glorious name Jehovah, then we display a flagrant disregard for the sovereignty of Jehovah. When we speak and act in a derogatory manner, then we dishonor our holy God and his holy name.

When Jesus was on the earth, he made his Father’s name manifest to his disciples. (John 17:6, 26) These disciples came to know Jehovah in an intimate personal way. They became his friend. Jesus taught us all what we should pray for, in order of importance. He impressed upon us the most important thing we should pray for is the sanctification of God’s name.

Disgrace is the fact that God’s name is missing from most Bible translations. God’s name does appear in its abbreviated form at Revelation 19:1, 3-6, in the expression “Alleluia” or “Hallelujah.” (KJ, DY, JB, AS, RS) It was argued long ago that the inspired writers of the Christian Greek Scriptures made their quotations from the Hebrew Scriptures on the basis of the Septuagint.

This post will have a list of many of these combination names, their meaning, and a key verse that they appear in.
  • Jehovah Jirah (asatisfiedspirit.com)
Another layer of Jehovah Jirah is that He is showing us.  He is revealing to us what He wants us to know as we seek His purpose for our lives.  He supplies everything that that we need for every part of our lives.  Paul tells us, “My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in Glory…” (Philippians 4:19)

Lots of people do want to follow “the popular course.” In the history of time we have seen many people who preferred to follow their own thoughts and their own stubborn will.
