3             The Song of the Lamb                             Revelation 15

Seven angels with seven plagues

1 John sees in heaven another great and marvellous sign: seven angels with seven last plagues – last because with them God’s wrath is completed.
2 Saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God
3 And sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb:
“Great and marvellous are  your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways, King of the ages.
4 Who will not fear you, O Lord, and brings glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”
5 After this I looked and in heaven the temple, that is, the tabernacle of the Testimony, was opened.
6 Out of the temple came the seven angels with the seven plagues.
They were dressed in clean, shining linen and wore golden sashes around their chests.
7 One of the four beasts gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever.
8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

And they sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb:

Verses 3-4
“Great and marvellous are  your deeds,
Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways, King of the ages.
Who will not fear you, O Lord, and brings glory to your name?
For you alone are holy.
All nations will come and worship before you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

In Elpis Israel Dr Thomas sees that this song refers back to the Song of Moses recorded in Exodus 14 after the defeat of Pharaoh after the crossing of the Red Sea.
They had been saved by the Angel of God and now this salvation is from the Lamb of God.

He writes – (page 293) that this song: “Celebrates his future triumph over all the nations in his deliverance of the twelve tribes from their tyranny; a redemption which will result in the submission of all nations to his sovereignty, as predicted in the song. And it is to be observed that the Lamb’s victory being the accomplishment of the prophecy in Moses’ song, and a victory gained on a similar occasion, and in connection with the same nation, the Lamb’s song is styled, in the Apocalypse, “The song of Moses and the song of the Lamb”.

The context of this song is that the last seven plagues were about to be released on to the earth. The implication is that these indeed are the last seven plagues …

Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous: seven angels having the seven last plagues, for in them is the wrath of God complete.

In the next chapter – they are referred to as the bowls of God’s wrath

  1. Loathsome sores
  2. Sea turns to blood
  3. Waters turn to blood
  4. Men are scorched
  5. Darkness and pain
  6. Euphrates dried up
  7. The earth is shaken by an earth quake.

There are a number of songs of Moses recorded for us (Exodus 15, Deuteronomium 31:30, 32;3 + Psalms)
The context of Moses bring the people out of Egypt – surely an excellent parable for the time when the saved are brought out from their service to sin into a new relationship with God.

The song is more of a focus on the power of God rather than directed to the Lamb.

It is praising God for what He has done for us in bringing about redemption for His saints and those that have been true to Him.

Most people believe singing is the primary activity of heaven, but the text I just read to you, is the only passage in the Book of Revelation that pictures us singing.
  • The Exodus-Do You Have the Blood of the Lamb On Your Door Post? (lynleahz.com)
God commanded the Israelites put the blood of a lamb on their doorpost so that when the death angel came (Abaddon) he would pass over their house and no person in their home would be harmed. If they did not have the blood of that lamb on their doorpost, then the fate of the Egyptians would also come upon them.

Friends, we are living in the days spoken of in Revelation.  Our King is holding God’s people in bondage, and God is mad!  We are going to witness some nasty things.  We will not be exempt from all the suffering.  However, I believe God showed us something very important in the Exodus account:  We are His people living in bondage to an evil government…an evil world!  His judgment is beginning to pour out because of the sin of the nations!

  • Exodus 15 – The Song of Moses (inchristalonedevotions.wordpress.com)
The victory over the Egyptians was a really big deal! The victory over Pharaoh’s stubbornness was a big deal, too, but finally God won over him and led his people out of Egypt.

The Israelites were thankful to God for His blessings. Just like the Israelites, we can do this too. Praise God with a song for the blessings He gives you. Be thankful to God for everything and His power and mercy. Praise God that we still live today.

When the Lord opened the Red Sea, enabling the Israelites to cross to safety, and then closed them, putting to death their enemies who sought to devour them, Moses, the servant of God sang a song of praise and worship to the Lord…

there was another figure in the ancient world who gave up everything to answer the call from what he believed was the one and only true God.

The Bible says that after Moses accepted his dangerous mission to get the Israelites out of Egypt, he confronted the pharaoh. The pharaoh refused to let his people go until God unleashed a series of unnatural disasters known as the 10 plagues. Jews commemorate this event and the Exodus on Passover.

“The evening before the 10th plague, Moses instructed the Jews to sacrifice a lamb and to paint its blood on their doors so that the angel of death would know who was Jewish and who wasn’t. This is where the term ‘Passover’ comes from,” said Jonathan Safran Foer, the author of “New American Haggadah.”

An unblemished and spotless lamb foreknown

Posted on December 21, 2012. Filed under: Bible Study and Bible Reading, Jesus Christ Jeshua the Messiah Jahushua | Tags: , , , , , |

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, having been sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong messenger proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loosen its seals?” And no one in the heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. And I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it. And one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. See, the Lion of the tribe of Yehuḏah {1} the Root of Dawid {2} overcame to open the scroll and to loosen its seven seals.” {Footnotes: 1Heb. 7:14 2Isa. 11:1 & 10.} (Revelation 5:1-5 The Scriptures 1998+)

And they sang a renewed song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and have redeemed us to Elohim by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and made us sovereigns and priests to our Elohim, and we shall reign upon the earth.”{1 Footnote: 1Dan. 7:18-27. }
(Revelation 5:9-10 The Scriptures 1998+)

And Yitsḥaq spoke to Aḇraham his father and said, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” And he said, “See, the fire and the wood! But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” And Aḇraham said, “My son, Elohim does provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” And the two of them went together.
(Genesis 22:7-8 The Scriptures 1998+)

and said, “By Myself I have sworn, declares יהוה {Jehovah}, because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son, that I shall certainly bless you, and I shall certainly increase your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore, and let your seed possess the gate of their enemies. “And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
(Genesis 22:16-18 The Scriptures 1998+)

On the next day Yoḥanan saw יהושע {Jeshua} coming toward him, and said, “See, the Lamb of Elohim who takes away the sin of the world!{1 Footnote: 1Mt. 1:21, Titus 2:14, 1 John 3:5 & 8.} “This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who has become before me, for He was before me.’{1 Footnote: 1See v. 15.} “And I did not know Him, but that He might be revealed to Yisra’ĕl,  therefore I came immersing in water.” And Yoḥanan bore witness, saying, “I have seen the Spirit coming down from heaven like a dove and remain on Him. “And I did not know Him, but He who sent me to immerse in water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit coming down and remaining on Him, this is He who immerses in the Set-apart Spirit.’ “And I have seen and have witnessed that this is the Son of Elohim.” Again the following day, Yoḥanan was standing with two of his taught ones, and looking at יהושע walking, he said, “See the Lamb of Elohim!”
(John 1:29-36 The Scriptures 1998+)

And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear, knowing that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, not with what is corruptible, silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, but manifested in these last times for your sakes, who through Him believe in Elohim who raised Him from the dead and gave Him esteem, so that your belief and expectation are in Elohim.
(1 Peter 1:17-21 The Scriptures 1998+)

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become children of Elohim, to those believing in His Name, who were born, not of blood nor of the desire of flesh nor of the desire of man, but of Elohim. And the Word became flesh and pitched His tent {1} among us, and we saw His esteem, esteem as of an only brought-forth of a father, complete in favour and truth. {Footnote: 1An indication that His birth was during the Festival of Booths}. Yoḥanan bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has become before me, because He was before me.’ ” And out of His completeness we all did receive, and favour upon favour, for the Torah was given through Mosheh – the favour and the truth came through יהושע Messiah.
(John 1:12-17 The Scriptures 1998+)

Therefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, set your expectation perfectly upon the favour that is to be brought to you at the revelation of יהושע Messiah, as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts in your ignorance, instead, as the One who called you is set-apart, so you also should become set-apart in all behaviour, because it has been written, “Be set-apart, for I am set-apart.”
(1 Peter 1:13-16 The Scriptures 1998+)

‘For I am יהוה your Elohim, and you shall set yourselves apart. And you shall be set-apart, for I am set-apart. And do not defile yourselves with any creeping creature that creeps on the earth. ‘For I am יהוה who is bringing you up out of the land of Mitsrayim, to be your Elohim. And you shall be set-apart, for I am set-apart.
(Leviticus 11:44-45 The Scriptures 1998+)

“Speak to all the congregation of the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘Be set-apart, for I יהוה your Elohim am set-apart.
(Leviticus 19:2 The Scriptures 1998+)

And they sang a renewed song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals, because You were slain, and have redeemed us to Elohim by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, and made us sovereigns and priests to our Elohim, and we shall reign upon the earth.”{1 Footnote: 1Dan. 7:18-27. }
(Revelation 5:9-10 The Scriptures 1998+)

saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and respect and esteem and blessing!” And every creature which is in the heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying, “To Him sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb, be the blessing and the respect and the esteem and the might, forever and ever!”
(Revelation 5:12-13 The Scriptures 1998+)

And I heard a voice out of the heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder, and I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps.
(Revelation 14:2 The Scriptures 1998+)

And I saw like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those overcoming the beast and his image and his mark and the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding harps of Elohim.
(Revelation 15:2 The Scriptures 1998+)

Let all that have breath praise Yah. Praise Yah!
(Psalms 150:6 The Scriptures 1998+)

My mouth speaks the praise of יהוה, And let all flesh bless His set-apart Name, Forever and ever.
(Psalms 145:21 The Scriptures 1998+)

But you have drawn near to Mount Tsiyon and to the city of the living Elohim, to the heavenly Yerushalayim, to myriads of messengers, to the entire gathering and assembly of the first-born having been enrolled in heaven, and to Elohim the Judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, and to יהושע the Mediator {1} of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling which speaks better than the blood of Heḇel. {Footnote: 1See 8:6. }
(Hebrews 12:22-24 The Scriptures 1998+)

“But you, Dani’ĕl, hide the words, and seal the book until the time of the end {1}. Many shall diligently search and knowledge shall increase.” {Footnote: 1See v. 9. }
(Daniel 12:4 The Scriptures 1998+)

And when the living creatures give esteem and respect and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and bow before Him who lives forever and ever, and they cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “You are worthy, O יהוה, to receive esteem and respect and power, for You have created all, and because of Your desire they are, and were created.” (Revelation 4:9-11 The Scriptures 1998+)

Servant of his Father

Posted on April 11, 2012. Filed under: Being Christian, following Jesus Christ, Jehovah יהוה YHWH JHVH God Elohim Yahweh Jahweh, Jesus Christ Jeshua the Messiah Jahushua | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

The last few days we encouraged our members to spend time in the Bible this weekend, first focusing on the death of our Saviour, then celebrating how death has been defeated.

We looked at how this master teacher who could do miracles was humble to take up the work of slaves. He also never wanted his name or position exalted. For Jesus it was clear he and we always had to follow what the Father in heaven wanted, and should never haver our priorities at the first place. Jesus did not follow his own path but gave his all being in the hands of his Father. He did not follow his own judgements but God’s judgements. He always looked to what God’s ways were and how he could step in line with it  and how his followers had to follow God’s ways, which should always be higher than our ways.

Christ is the Way

” יהושע  said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. ” (John 14:6 The Scriptures 1998+)
““Of Myself I am unable to do any matter. As I hear, I judge, and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own desire, but the desire of the Father who sent Me. “If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. “There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true. ” (John 5:30-32 The Scriptures 1998+)
“I am the good shepherd.1 And I know Mine, and Mine know Me, Footnote: 1Ezek. 34:11-12, Heb. 13:20, 1 Peter 2:25, 1 Peter 5:4. even as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep. “And other sheep I have which are not of this fold – I have to bring them as well, and they shall hear My voice, and there shall be one flock, one shepherd.1 Footnote: 1Ezek. 34:23, Ezek. 37:24. “Because of this the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, in order to receive it again. “No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to receive it again. This command I have received from My Father.” (John 10:14-18 The Scriptures 1998+)

Jesus said it himself, in case he would have been sent by himself to this earth, than he would be a deceiver, and his witness would not be true, so worthless and perjury.

Jesus who was aware he  only could do all those miracles because he received the blessings and the power of his Father, was willing to bring this power of his Father to the advantage of the people around him; He also wanted to share that life God had given him, with us in abundance.

Jesus as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, to make himself of no account, futile, meaningless, wilful to his Father, he esteemed the other better than himself in lowliness of mind, and did want to get the best for the other and contradictory to the world he never wanted to please himself, but he wanted to please God, his Father to whom he wanted to be obedient. He had a concern for the people around him their needs and concerns. He was willing to give his life as a ransom for them and those he even did not know. Jesus was willing to offer his body as a lamb on the slaughter table so that we could have life, and that we may have it even more abundantly so that  we are enabled to bear fruit like Jesus did bear much fruit.

Luke tells us that Jesus is the real man who presented himself to God his Father and was as such the παῖς  or ‘servant’ of God, in the sense in which Isaiah has spoken of the Messiah as the ‘eḇed jehovah,’ ‘servant of Jehovah (= servant of God).’ The apostle Luke presents the Christ in his bearing on the history of God’s Kingdom and of the world – as God’s Elect Servant in Whom He delighted as Isaiah predicted. In the Old Testament, to adopt a beautiful figure, the idea of the Servant of the Lord is set before us like a pyramid: at its base it is all Israel, at its central section Israel after the Spirit (the circumcised in heart), represented by David, the man after God’s own heart; while at its apex it is the ‘Elect’ Servant, the Messiah. And these three ideas, with their sequences, are presented in the third Gospel as centring in Jesus the Messiah. By the side of this pyramid is the other: the Son of Man, the Son of David, the Son of God. The Servant of the Lord of Isaiah and of Luke is the Enlightener, the Consoler, the victorious Deliverer; the Messiah or Anointed: the Prophet, the Priest, the King.

In this counsellor we find a shepherd as David. Jesus was to shoot forth the Branch of David, the other servant of God. The ‘Servant of the Lord’ in relation to Israel’s history was Kingship in Israel; the ‘Servant of the Lord’ in relation to Israel’s ritual ordinances was the Priesthood in Israel; the ‘Servant of the Lord’ in relation to prediction was the Prophetic order. But all sprang from the same fundamental idea: that of the ‘Servant of Jehovah.’

As a servant opens the door or gate for his master and the guests to this master, Jesus opens the door for us to his Master, his God and our God. Though the servant can find everything at his hands in the masters house, he does not steal and takes care that everything stays in good order.

““The thief does not come except to steal, and to slaughter, and to destroy. I have come that they might possess life, and that they might possess it beyond measure. ““I am the door. Whoever enters through Me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and find pasture. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to slaughter, and to destroy. I have come that they might possess life, and that they might possess it beyond measure. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. ” (John 10:9-11 The Scriptures 1998+)
“even as the Son of Aḏam did not come to be served, but to serve,1 and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Footnote:1See Mark 10:45 and Isa. 49:1-7. ” (Matthew 20:28 The Scriptures 1998+)

“For, let this mind be in you which was also in Messiah יהושע, who, being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a matter to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men. And having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake. Elohim, therefore, has highly exalted Him and given Him the Name which is above every name, that at the Name of יהושע every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that יהושע Messiah is Master, to the esteem of Elohim the Father. ” (Philippians 2:5-11 The Scriptures 1998+)

Though Jesus was the only Begotten of the Father (John 1:14), the Brightness of the Father’s glory (Hebrews 1:3), the Chosen (Matthew 12:18) and the Christ (Matthew 1:16) he wanted to be  a Consolation of Israel (Luke 2:25) and a  Counselor (Isaia 9:6), Friend (John 11:1-44) and even Brother (Hebrews 2:11). Though he expressed images of the Father (Hebrews 1:3) he wanted to be a Faithful Witness of Him (Revelation 1:5), being a Holy One of God (Mark 1:24) always under the Law of the Almighty One God and bringing others under that precious Law (Matthew 27:51; Romans 7:4; Ephesians 2:13-15), being sure that it was not him but the Holy Spirit of his Father who would bring the followers of him his teachings to their remembrance (John 14:26).

John the Baptist declares Jesus to be the Lamb of God, the baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and the Son of God (John 1:29-34 ). As a lamb Jesus was willing to be a sacrifice and to lay down his life as a Ransom (1Timothee 2:6), becoming the new Passover (1Corinthians 5:7), and because of that his Father loves him (Ephesians 5:2; John 10:17) and has taken him as a salvation and mediator for men (Luke 2:25-30; 1Timothee 2:5).

“For there is one Elohim,1 and one Mediator between Elohim and men, the Man Messiah יהושע, Footnote: 11 Cor. 8:6, Eph. 4:6, Mk. 12:29-34. ” (1 Timothy 2:5 The Scriptures 1998+)

God was willing to accept his son his offer and took the anointed up in heaven to sit at His right hand after He had raised up Jesus as the Saviour. By this Christ his action of giving himself to all humanity, as a humble servant Jesus will raise us up through His power. Jesus voluntarily yielded up his life when he knew that his suffering was completed (see John 19:30). It also implies that the divine nature of Christ was active in his resurrection: he was able to “take up” his life again, because he trusted fully in his Father.

“So when יהושע took the sour wine He said, “It has been accomplished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. ” (John 19:30 The Scriptures 1998+)
“Truly, He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains. Yet we reckoned Him stricken, smitten by Elohim, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our crookednesses. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. We all, like sheep, went astray, each one of us has turned to his own way. And יהוה has laid on Him the crookedness of us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, but He did not open His mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, but He did not open His mouth. ” (Isaiah 53:4-7 The Scriptures 1998+)
“On the next day Yoḥanan saw יהושע {Jeshua} coming toward him, and said, “See, the Lamb of Elohim who takes away the sin of the world!1 Footnote: 1Mt. 1:21, Titus 2:14, 1 John 3:5 & 8. ” (John 1:29 The Scriptures 1998+)
“Therefore cleanse out the old leaven, so that you are a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Messiah our Passover was offered for us. ” (1 Corinthians 5:7 The Scriptures 1998+)
“Therefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, set your expectation perfectly upon the favour that is to be brought to you at the revelation of יהושע Messiah, as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts in your ignorance, instead, as the One who called you is set-apart, so you also should become set-apart in all behaviour, because it has been written, “Be set-apart, for I am set-apart.” And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear, knowing that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your fathers, not with what is corruptible, silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Messiah, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, foreknown, indeed, before the foundation of the world, but manifested in these last times for your sakes, who through Him believe in Elohim who raised Him from the dead and gave Him esteem, so that your belief and expectation are in Elohim. ” (1 Peter 1:13-21 The Scriptures 1998+)
“And I looked, and I heard the voice of many messengers around the throne, and the living creatures, and the elders. And the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb having been slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and respect and esteem and blessing!” ” (Revelation 5:11-12 The Scriptures 1998+)

Jehovah God exalted his humble servant because he fulfilled all the works God wanted to be done on earth by him.

“For you shall not come out in haste, nor go in flight. For יהוה is going before you, and the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl is your rear guard. See, My Servant shall work wisely, He shall be exalted and lifted up and very high. As many were astonished at You – so the disfigurement beyond any man’s and His form beyond the sons of men – He shall likewise startle many nations. Sovereigns shut their mouths at Him, for what had not been recounted to them they shall see, and what they had not heard they shall understand. ” (Isaiah 52:12-15 The Scriptures 1998+)
“Who has believed our report? And to whom was the arm of יהוה revealed? For He grew up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or splendour that we should look upon Him, nor appearance that we should desire Him – despised and rejected by men, a man of pains and knowing sickness. And as one from whom the face is hidden, being despised, and we did not consider Him. Truly, He has borne our sicknesses and carried our pains. He was taken from prison and from judgment. And as for His generation, who considered that He shall be cut off from the land of the living? For the transgression of My people He was stricken. And He was appointed a grave with the wrong, and with the rich at His death, because He had done no violence, nor was deceit in His mouth1. Footnote: 1See 1 Peter 2:22. But יהוה was pleased to crush Him, He laid sickness on Him, that when He made Himself an offering for guilt, He would see a seed, He would prolong His days and the pleasure of יהוה prosper in His hand. He would see the result of the suffering of His life and be satisfied. Through His knowledge My righteous Servant makes many righteous, and He bears their crookednesses. Therefore I give Him a portion among the great, and He divides the spoil with the strong, because He poured out His being unto death, and He was counted with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. ” (Isaiah 53:1-12 The Scriptures 1998+)

Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn 012

Are you willing to tell the people around you that you know Christ Jesus? - St Peter's denial - 1660 Rembrandt (1606–1669)

In case that we are willing to give our bodies to the Work of God and be members of Christ Jesus, as members of the body of Christ we should be joined as one and be of one spirit with Christ Jesus. Be fleeing every sin because this  is outside of the body and our body should be a temple of the Holy Spiritin us, which we have from God.

“And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were set apart, but you were declared right in the Name of the Master יהושע and by the Spirit of our Elohim. All is permitted me, but not all do profit. All is permitted me, but I shall not be under authority of any. Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods – but Elohim shall destroy both it and them. And the body is not for whoring but for the Master, and the Master for the body. And Elohim, who raised up the Master, shall also raise us up through His power. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Messiah? Shall I then take the members of Messiah and make them members of a whore? Let it not be! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a whore is one body? For He says, “The two shall become one flesh.” And he who is joined to the Master is one spirit. Flee whoring. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits whoring sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the Dwelling Place of the Set-apart Spirit who is in you, which you have from Elohim, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price, therefore esteem Elohim in your body and in your spirit,1 which are of Elohim. Footnote: 1See 7:23, 1 Peter 1:18-19. ” (1 Corinthians 6:11-20 The Scriptures 1998+)

Also those who wanted to become big or important should know that they had first to be the lowest of all.

We ourselves should become as Christ. Being Christ does not mean that we are going to be God, as many think Jesus to be God, but it means being as the Servant Jesus, being child of the Father in heaven and being a seed in the hands of the Lord.

The Lord Jesus wants us, as his pupils, his branches, to be fruitful.

“In this My Father is esteemed, that you bear much fruit, and you shall be My taught ones. ” (John 15:8 The Scriptures 1998+)

Fruit is the result of developing life. Branches do not innately have that life in themselves. “The branch cannot bear fruit of itself.” Branches must always find their life in the vine. The vine, Jesus, has life.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Our Lord came to share that life with us in abundance. “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (Joh_10:10). His abundant life is what enables us to bear much fruit.

We should try to do as Jesus, our biggest and best example, and should strive to be simple and sincere toward all, seeking not to please and honour self, but the Lord. As Jesus has given us examples how to pray, to his Father and Our Father, and warned us to keep to the commandments having only One God, we should be careful with what and whom we associate, and be careful to honour the right person with our lips and actions, not being afraid of Christ Jesus.

As Jesus was the servant of his Father and people around him we should also be servants of the people around us and a servant for Christ and for God, faithful to the Lord, the Truth, the brethren and all with whom we have to do, not only in great matters, but also in the little things of life. We should as followers of Christ, becoming Christians have equality in love, so that we are as Brethren and sisters in Christ wanting to do things for each other, never being demanding and never having more than a master/servant relationship. We should all have the idea of equality in Christ. Secular society may not want to live up to the ideal of Christian equality, but the Christian community should certainly hold to that model. To be God’s person is not something one is in isolation from society, but it means to be Christ’s servant in community with mankind at large.

Brethren and Sisters in Christ or Christadelphians - Being one in Christ

No state, no condition of rank in life, is altogether exempt from being a servant. The King and the beggar have both their respective provinces in life; and as Solomon said, the profit of the earth is for all the King himself is served by the field.

“And the increase of the land is for all. The sovereign himself is served from the field.” (Ecclesiastes 5:9 The Scriptures 1998+)

We find God the Father speaking of Jesus the servant of God, when calling him by this name. “Behold my Servant, whom I uphold: mine Elect in whom my soul delighteth!” God has called the branch of David in righteousness, and will hold his hand, and will keep him, and give him for a Covenant of the people.

““See, My Servant whom I uphold, My Chosen One My being has delighted in! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He brings forth right-ruling to the nations. “He does not cry out, nor lifts up His voice, nor causes His voice to be heard in the street. “A crushed reed He does not break, and smoking flax He does not quench. He brings forth right-ruling in accordance with truth. “He does not become weak or crushed, until He has established right-ruling in the earth. And the coastlands wait for His Torah.” Thus said the Ěl, יהוה, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it, and spirit to those who walk on it: “I, יהוה, have called You in righteousness, and I take hold of Your hand and guard You, and give You for a covenant to a people, for a light to the gentiles, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the prison, those who sit in darkness from the prison house. “I am יהוה {Jehovah}, that is My Name, and My esteem I do not give to another, nor My praise to idols. ” (Isaiah 42:1-8 The Scriptures 1998+)

Gottlieb-Christ Preaching at Capernaum

Christ Jesus preaching as a servant for God, proclaiming the Word of God in a temple in Caparneum - 1878-1879 (unfinished) Maurycy Gottlieb (1856–1879)

Jesus was humbly enough to tell people all things he did, he did by the hand of God. He has been trustworthy over a small part of the world, the Land of God’s People. Are we willing to be placed as him, being a servant, responsible over a relatively  few things,  so we will be placed later over many things? The conduct of us as servants  of others, servants of Christ and as servants of God shall be determining to enter the Kingdom of God. We also should be prepared to be ready at any moment of the day to be there to be the servant for the returning Master who was only Servant of God.

God has given us Christ on earth, so we can serve him here on earth as the representative of God. By going for Christ we can serve God, but than we cannot be a servant of the world at the same time or be dependant of material things  at the same time. The person who loves his earthly life will eventually  lose it forever,  but the person who hates his life in this world will retain never ending life. If any person wants to serve Christ,  he should become his follower;  and wherever he is,  his servant will be there also.  If any person serves him,  the Father will honour him.

““And his master said to him, ‘Well done, good and trustworthy servant. You were trustworthy over a little, I shall set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ ” (Matthew 25:21 The Scriptures 1998+)
““No servant is able to serve two masters, for either he shall hate the one and love the other, or else he shall cling to the one and despise the other. You are not able to serve Elohim and mammon.” And the Pharisees, who loved silver, also heard all this, and were sneering at Him, so He said to them, “You are those who declare yourselves righteous before men, but Elohim knows your hearts, because what is highly thought of among men is an abomination in the sight of Elohim. “The Torah and the prophets are until Yoḥanan. Since then the reign of Elohim is being announced, and everyone is doing violence upon it. “And it is easier for the heaven and the earth to pass away than for one tittle of the Torah to fall. ” (Luke 16:13-17 The Scriptures 1998+)
““Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. “He who loves his life shall lose it, and he who hates his life in this world shall preserve it for everlasting life. “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me. And where I am, there My servant also shall be. If anyone serves Me, the Father shall value him. ” (John 12:24-26 The Scriptures 1998+)

Trusting ourself to Divine care and the Providential overruling of all our interests for our highest welfare, we should seek not only to be pure in heart, but to repel all anxiety, all discontent, all discouragement, neither murmuring nor repine at what the Lord’s providence may permit, because “Faith can firmly trust Him, Come what may.”

Are we willing to become like Christ, a servant of God? And be willing to prepare for the coming of the greatest servant of all? Being as brides to Christ? Or do we want to be called to the marriage of the Lamb of God Jesus Christ?  Willing to walk as servants in the light of Christ, being just a shadow?

““And know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. “Because of this, be ready too, for the Son of Aḏam is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him. “Who then is a trustworthy and wise servant, whom his master set over his household, to give them food in season? “Blessed is that servant whom his master, having come, shall find so doing. “Truly, I say to you that he shall set him over all his possessions. ” (Matthew 24:43-47 The Scriptures 1998+)
“And he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who have been called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true words of Elohim.” ” (Revelation 19:9 The Scriptures 1998+)
“And I saw no Dwelling Place in it, for יהוה  Ěl Shaddai is its Dwelling Place, and the Lamb. And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it, for the esteem of Elohim lightened it, and the Lamb is its lamp. And the gentiles, of those who are saved, shall walk in its light,1 and the sovereigns of the earth bring their esteem into it. Footnote: 1See Isa. 60:3. And its gates shall not be shut at all by day, for night shall not be there. And they shall bring the esteem and the appreciation of the gentiles into it. And there shall by no means enter into it whatever is unclean, neither anyone doing abomination and falsehood,1 but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Footnote: 1See 22:15, and 2 Thess. 2:11. ” (Revelation 21:22-27 The Scriptures 1998+)

“And I looked, and I heard the voice of many messengers around the throne, and the living creatures, and the elders. And the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,” (Revelation 5:11 The Scriptures 1998+)

I have been unified with the body of Christ by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  That was realized through baptism into His death.
    +
I should fully respect a Brother’s opinion when we are talking about opinions.  Who am I to think my “opinion” is any better than somebody else’s “opinion?”  Scripture legislates doctrine.  Conscience legislates opinion.  I must know the difference.
  • The Path Ahead (redeemedinstruments.com)
If we only look ahead to the future our vision is at best cloudy and obscured, at worst totally dark.
    +
Throughout the Bible there is a constant theme that urges God’s people to look to their forefathers as their example; to return to the old ways when things were as they should be between God and His people.  Ladies and gentlemen, there is only one place where hope is to be found, and only one Person who can give it to us.  The place can be described many ways, but may I suggest that since without it we are doomed and appointed to death both individually and as a people, we may best refer to as it The Word of Life.
  • The Meaning of the Term “Brother” (idkh.org)
All servants who were called in the church of God are accepted to be God’s sons and daughters. (2 Cor. 6:18) and I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. (Mat 23:8)  But you must not be called Rabbi, for One is your teacher, Christ, and you are all brothers. Like what Jesus had shown, whoever does the will of the Father, and fulfill all righteousness is accepted as God’s beloved son to whom He is well pleased. (Mat. 3: 15-17)
    +
Like faith, the love to a brother should be shown through actions with all truthfulness. (James 2: 15-16, 22)
    +
If we can love one another like we love ourselves, not only we obey God’s greatest commandment, but peace and happiness will be felt throughout all brethren of the church of God. (Psalms 122: 8-9)

A Messiah to die

Posted on April 7, 2012. Filed under: Bible Study and Bible Reading, Jesus Christ Jeshua the Messiah Jahushua | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Excerpts from the Book of Matthew:

from “The Holy Peshitta of the Assembly of Jerusalem.”

Matthew 16: 13-20:

13 And when Yeshua came into the region of Caesarea of Philippi, he was asking his talmidim, saying: “What do men say concerning me, that I am a Son of Man?” 14 And they said: “Some say Yokhanan the Baptiser; but others, Eliyahu; and others, Yeremi’ya, or one of the prophets. “15 He said to them: “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Shimon Keipha answered and said: “You are the Anointed, the Son of the living God.” 17 Yeshua answered, and said to him: “Blessed are you, Shimon bar Yokhanan*; because flesh and blood have not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18 Also I say to you, that you are Keipha, and upon this rock, I will build my Temple, and the gates of Sheol shall not suppress it.”

19 Turning to the twelve he said*: “I will give to all of you the keys of the Kingdom of heaven and anything that you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and the thing you loose on earth, will be loosed in heaven.” 20 Then he commanded his talmidim that to men they should not say he was the Messiah.

16: 21-28:

21 From that time on, Yeshua began to make known to his talmidim that he was to go to Yerushalayim and to suffer much from the elders, and the chief priests and scribes, and he would be murdered, and that on the third day would rise up. 22 But Keipha took him and began rebuking him saying: “Far be it from you, Mari, that this should happen to you.” 23 But he turned and said to Keipha: “Get behind me, accuser; you are a stumbling block to me because you do not think the things of God, rather the things of the sons of men.”

24 Then Yeshua said to his talmidim: “He who wishes to follow after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow after me. 25 For, he who desires to save his life shall lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and loses his soul? What will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 It is necessary for the Son of Man is to come in the glory of his Father, with all his holy angels; and then he will reward every man according to his works. 28 Truly I say to you, that there are some men who are standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man come into his Kingdom.”

17:22-23:

22 While they were travelling in Galil, Yeshua said to them: “The Son of Man will be betrayed into the hands of the sons of men; 23 and they will murder him; and on the third day he will rise.” And they were very saddened.

20: 17-19:

17 And Yeshua was going to go up to Yerushalayim, and he took his twelve talmidim alone on [[the side of]] the road, and said to them: 18 “Behold! We are going up to Yerushalayim; and the Son of Man will be delivered up to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they will condemn him to death.  19 And they will deliver him over to the gentiles: and they will mock him, and will beat him, and will crucify him; and the third day, he will rise.”

21: 42-46:

42 Yeshua said to them: “Have you never read in the Scripture: ‘The stone that was rejected by the builders became the head of the corner; this is from the presence of Mar-Yah; and it is marvellous in our eyes’?*

43 “Therefore I say to you, that the Kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and shall be given to a people who bear fruit. 44 And whoever falls upon this stone, will be broken; and anyone it falls upon it will crush.”

45 And when the chief priests and Pharisees heard his parables, they understood that he spoke against them. 46 And they wanted to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd, because they regarded him as a prophet.

26:1-5:

1 And it came to pass, that when Yeshua had finished all these sayings, he said to his talmidim:  2 “You know that after two days is Pesach; and the Son of Man will be betrayed to be crucified.”

3 Then the chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the people gathered together at the court of the high priest, who was called Qeiafa. 4 And they took counsel concerning Yeshua, so that they might take arrest him by deceit and murder him. 5 And they were saying: “Not during the festival, in case disorder should take place among the people.”

26:11-16:

11 For you will always have the poor with you; but you will not always have me. 12 But this one act, pouring the perfume on my body, she has done so as if it were for my burial. 13 Truly I say to you, that wherever this my gospel is preached, in all the world, also this thing that she did will be told as a memorial to her.”

14 Then one of the twelve, named Yudah Skariota, went to the chief priests, 15 and said to them: “What are you willing to give me, if I will deliver him to you?” And they promised him thirty pieces of silver.  16 And from then on, he was seeking a chance to betray him.

26:20-25:

20 And when it was evening, he was reclining among his twelve talmidim. 21 And while they were eating, he said: “Truly I say to you, that one of you will betray me.” 22 And it made them very sad. And each of them began to say to him: “Mari, is it I?”* 23 And he answered and said: “He who dips his hand with me in the dish, that one will betray me. 24 And the Son of Man will go, as it is written concerning him.  Woe to that man, by whose hand the Son of Man is betrayed. It would have been better for that man, if he had not been born.” 25 Yudah the betrayer answered and said: “Rabbi, is it I?” Yeshua said to him: “You have said it.”

26:28:

28 This is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for the sake of many for the forgiveness of sins.

26:30-32:

30 And they sang Hallel*, and went out to Har-Zeitim. 31 Then Yeshua said to them: “All of you will be offended by me in this night; for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of his flock will be scattered.’ 32 But after I have risen, I will go before you into Galil.”

26: 37-39:

37 And he took Keipha and the two sons of Zavddai, and began to be sorrowful and wearied. 38 And he said to them: “There is sadness in my soul, even to death. Wait with me here, and watch with me.” 39 And he went a little ways, and fell upon his face, and prayed, and said: “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass over me. However, not as I will, but as you will.”

26:48-50:

48 And Yudah the betrayer had given them a sign, saying: “It is he whom I kiss; seize him.” 49 And immediately he went to Yeshua, and said: “Shalom, Rabbi;” and kissed him. 50 And Yeshua said to him: “Is it for this reason you have come, my friend?” Then drawing near, they laid their hands on Yeshua, and seized him.

27:1-5:

1 And when it was morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took council against Yeshua, so that they might put him to death. 2 And they bound him, and took him and delivered him up to the governor Pilatos.

3 Then Yudah the betrayer, when he saw that Yeshua was convicted, repented. And he went and returned those thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders; 4 and said: “I have sinned, due to the fact that I have betrayed innocent blood.” And they said: “What is it to us? See to your own issues.” 5 And he threw the silver into the Temple, and leaving, he went and hanged himself.

27:9-10:

9 Then it was fulfilled that which was spoken by the prophet [[Zechariah]], saying: “I took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of the precious one, which they of the B’nai Yisrael had agreed upon;

10 and I gave them for the field of the potter, as Mar-Yah directed me.”

27:18-26:

18 For Pilatos knew that it was because of hate that they had handed over Yeshua*. 19 And while the governor was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, and said: “Have nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered very much today in a dream because of him.” 20 But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they ask for Bar Abba, and to destroy Yeshua. 21 And the governor answered, and said to them: “Whom do you desire to be freed to you?” And theysaid: “Bar Abba!” 22 Pilatos said to them: “And Yeshua, who is called the Messiah, what should I do to him?” They all said: “Let him be crucified.” 23 The governor said to them: “Indeed, what evil has he committed?” And they cried out all the more, and said: “Let him be crucified.” 24 And Pilatos, when he saw that nothing was helpful, but rather that uproar was produced, he took water, and washed his hands before the crowds, and said: “I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; do as you will.” 25 And all the people answered, and said: “His blood be upon us, and upon our children!” 26 Then he released Bar Abba to them; and scourged Yeshua with whips and gave him over to be crucified.

27:27-31:

27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Yeshua into the Praetorium, and assembled the entire brigade against him. 28 And they stripped him, and clothed him with a purple robe*. 29 And they wove a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand, and they bowed down upon their knees before him, and they were mocking him, saying: “Hail, King of the Judeans.” 30 And they spit in his face, and took the reed, and struck him on his head. 31 And when they had mocked him, they removed the robe, and put on him his own garments, and led him away to be crucified.

27:32-54:

32 And as they went out, they found a man from Qurinya* whose name was Shimon; and they compelled him to carry his cross. 33 And they came to a place which is called Golgotha, which is interpreted The Skull. 34 And they gave him to strong vinegar drink mixed with gall. And he tasted it but did not desire to drink it. 35 And when they had crucified him, they divided his clothes by casting lots. 36 And sitting down, they were watching him there. 37 And they placed over his head the reason for his death in writing:

THIS IS YESHUA,

THE KING OF THE JUDEANS

38 And there were crucified with him two bandits, one on his right, and one on his left. 39 And those who were passing by were blaspheming against him, and were nodding their heads 40 and saying: “You who would tear down the Temple, and rebuild it in three days, deliver yourself if you are the Son of God, and come down from the cross.” 41 Likewise the chief priests were mocking, along with the scribes and elders and Pharisees, 42 and they were saying: “He saved others, but his very life he is not able to save. If he is the King of Yisrael, let him come down now from the cross, so that we may see it and believe in him.  43 He trusted in God; let him save him now, if he is pleased with him, for he said: ‘I am the Son of God.’”

44 Likewise the bandits that were also crucified with him, criticised him. 45 And from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land, until the ninth hour. 46 And about the ninth hour, Yeshua cried out with a loud voice and said: “Eli, Eli; why have you spared me?” 47 And some of those men that were standing there, when they heard this, said: “He calls for Eliyahu.” 48 And immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and offered it to him. 49 But the rest were saying: “Let him be; let us see if Eliyahu will come to save him.”

50 And again Yeshua cried out with a loud voice, and gave up his spirit. 51 And immediately, the lintel of the Temple fell and broke into pieces; and the earth was shaken; and the rocks split. 52 And the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who were sleeping arose, 53 and went out; and after his resurrection, they entered into the Holy City, and many saw them. 54 And the centurion, and those that were with him who were watching Yeshua, when they saw the earthquake and all that had occurred, became afraid, and said: “Truly, this was the Son of God.”

27:57-66:

57 And when it became evening, a rich man came from Ramatayim, whose name was a Yoseph, who was also a talmid of Yeshua. 58 This man drew near to Pilatos, and requested the body of Yeshua. And Pilatos instructed that the body be given to him. 59 And Yoseph took the body, and wrapped it in a shroud of fine linen; 60 and he laid it in his new sepulchre that had been hewn from rock. And they rolling a large boulder, they placed it against the entrance of the sepulchre, and departed: 6l And Miriam of Magdala and the other Miriam were there, who sat on the other side of the sepulchre.

62 And on the next day that was after sunset*, the chief priests and Pharisees gathered together with Pilatos, 63 and said to him: “Our lord, we remember that this deceiver said, when he was alive, ‘After three days, I will arise.’ 64 Therefore, instruct that they guard the sepulchre until the third day; in case his talmidim come and steal him during the night, and say to the people that he has risen from the dead; and the last deception should become worse than the first.’” 65 Pilatos said to them: “You have guards! Go and guard it as you see fit.” 66 And they went and appointed guards by the sepulchre, and set a seal on the stone and placed the guards on watch.

there are many important similarities between the teachings of Yeshua and those of the Essenes/Qumran community.
  • Passover and Good Friday are just hours away! – A Message from Bibles for Israel (terri0729.wordpress.com)
Friday at sunset, the eight-day celebration of Passover begins.
Jewish people will mark the beginning of this prophetic holiday, which foreshadows the salvation wrought for all mankind by Yeshua, with a ceremonial meal called the Seder, in which the story of deliverance from slavery in Egyptis retold.

Around the world, as the Jewish People commemorate their exodus from slavery inEgypt, and celebrate the saving power of the God of Israel, Believers in Yeshua (Jesus)—both Jewish and Gentile—will celebrate freedom from slavery to sin.
  • Notes And Commentary: “Jacob’s Trouble” Opening Session Presented By Speaker David Chernoff [MJAA SW Regional Conference 2012] (paradoxparables.justparadox.com)
They will look to the one they have pierced and mourn. There are many prophecies of Messiah in the Tanakh. Yeshua said The Torah, Moshe and Prophets speak of Him and if we believe the Torah, Moshe and the Prophets then we would believe Messiah. It is important that we show people in the Tanakh that Yeshua is the Messiah prophesied about. Read Isaiah 53 and see if you can come to any other conclusion.
  • Weekly Torah Portion: Pesach (Passover) Week 1 (paradoxparables.justparadox.com)
God rescued Israel from Egypt and told her people to keep the festival as a remembrance of their salvation from bondage and slavery. But it was more than just a remembrance. It was also a rehearsal for something wonderful to come, an appointed time on God’s calendar.
  • The Rush to Wound the Feminine (newheavenonearth.wordpress.com)
Mary of Bethany anointed Jesus before his death for his burial (the feminine anointed the masculine to make them a King in ancient times), and Mary Magdalene accompanied him in death and his descent to hell in the three days before he resurrected (see Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault’s The Meaning of Mary Magdalene: Discovering the woman at the heart of Christianity). Mary was the hidden, inner Life force energy that accompanied Yeshua in death, descent, resurrection and ascension. Mary Magdalene was the first person Christ revealed himself to and called to reveal the resurrection to the male disciples. She was the one heart and life of Yeshua.
  • He Says Concerning Himself “I am the Son of Elohim” (guapotg.wordpress.com)
there is an amazing Messianic Prophecy found in The Wisdom of Solomon 2:12-22
    +
13: He professes that the knowledge of Elohim is his: and he says concerning himself
“I am the Son of Elohim”
(Wisdom 2:13 HRV)In fact both Matthew and Yochanan (John) quote Yeshua as angering many by saying “I am the Son of Elohim/Eloah”:41 And likewise, the Chief Cohenim reviled Him, with the scribes and elders,
42 Saying, He saved others, but Himself He cannot save. If He is the king of Yisrael, let
Him now come down from this gallows, and we will believe in Him.
43 He believed in Elohim, let Him deliver Him now, if He delight [in Him]: for He
said, I am the Son of Elohim.
44 And so likewise the robbers, which were crucified with Him, reproached Him.
    (Mt. 27:41-44 HRV)
+15: He is heavy upon us even to behold: because his way of life is not like others,
    his ways are different.
16: We are esteemed by him as impure: he abstained from our ways like from impurity:
he blesses the ways and the end of the righteous, and he boasts that Elohim is his
    father.
17: Let us see if his words are true: and let us test him by his departure.
    (Wisdom 2:15-17 HRV)
    +
Like Joseph the Patriarch, Yeshua was betrayed by his own for a few pieces of silver (Gen. 37:28) he was cast into “the pit” (death) and raised back up so that he might redeem his brothers,  Like Joseph, Yeshua’s teaching and revelation angered his brothers, who sought to put his claims to the test by casting him into the pit (of death).
    +

18: For if the Righteous One is the Son of Elohim, he will receive him, and deliver
him from the hand of those who rise up against him.
    (Wisdom 2:18 HRV)

This strongly parallels a Messianic prophecy found in Psalm 22:

9 (22:8) Let him commit himself unto YHWH; let Him rescue him; let Him deliver him:
    seeing He delights in him.
    (Ps. 22:9 (8) HRV)

And both were fulfilled by Yeshua as we read in Matthew and in Yochanan (John):

43 He believed in Elohim, let Him deliver Him now, if He delight [in Him]: for He
said, I am the Son of Elohim.
    (Mt. 27:43 HRV)

  • The Crucifixion Week (blogginghounds.wordpress.com)
The prophecy states the Messiah would be in the belly of the earth 3 days and 3 nights. It is also written that the scriptures cannot be broken. Therefore, Yeshua MUST have been in the belly of the earth for 3 day and 3 nights to satisfy that prophecy qualifing Himself as the Messiah just as any of the other prophecy must be fulfilled.
  • Traditions of the Elders (guapotg.wordpress.com)
In Matthew 15:1-23 and Mark 7:1-23 there is a record of a conflict between Yeshua and a group of Pharisees.  This conflict has been mischaracterized by many as a conflict between Yeshua and the Oral Law in general, rather than a typical debate of the time about the validity or invalidity of a given tradition of the Elders.
  • Passover the season of our unity (blogginghounds.wordpress.com)
On the eve of Passover, all Israel, as one household, sacrifices a lamb at the same time and in the same manner. Each household within Israel has one lamb, and every single person within Israel must partake on the same night.
    +
The unity of the lamb for each household underscores the unity of each household, which taken together form the unity of the whole household of Israel, all marked for deliverance by the blood of the Passover lamb. This theme of unity resounds throughout our celebration of the Passover seder today. The whole family gathers around the table to retell the story.

This counting begins on the 15th of Nisan and the counting continues for 49 days leading up to Sh’avuot/Pentecost (the 50th day). This year it falls on 04/7/12 @6pm  and goes until 5/27/12@6pm.
  • Daily Tidbits 4/7 – The Mark of YHWH (littleguyintheeye.wordpress.com)
This is what redemption is, to bring back man to the state of Adam before he fell.  This can only be done through Messiah Yahshua who is the tree of life.  In the end, the man of sin is going to offer redemption through the tree of knowledge…’ye shall not surely die’, yet this is going to lead to eternal damnation.  The sons of Elohim are those who are adopted and redeemed through Messiah Yahshua(Romans 8:11-39) The adversary is going to offer mankind to become one with the fallen sons of Elohim who come down from heaven offering to mix with mankind just as they did in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37).His sabbaths, His feasts are a sign that we are His people.  It is His mark.  What is the counterfeit?  A false feast/holiday system.  Christmas click here,  Easter click here etc. are all counterfeits which point to the antichrist.  As seen above, the mark is all about the resurrection and who’s image one chooses.  The image of Messiah Yahshua who is the tree of life or the image of the beast which is the tree of knowledge.  The feasts of YHWH point to Messiah.  The holidays of this world system click here point to the antichrist.  A deeper study of the symbology and rituals of these holidays show that death and resurrection are the main themes and ultimately the desire of man to be ‘gods’ knowing good and evil is portrayed.
  • Easter (littleguyintheeye.wordpress.com)
It is clear from looking at multiple Bible dictionaries that Easter is a counterfeit of the Pesach (Passover).
    +
This is what Easter is.  It is hopping between two opinions.  It is trying mix the Pesach with spring festival customs of the heathen.  It is another golden calf.  Worshipping YHWH in accordance with heathen rites.
    +
The name Easter derives from the goddess Eostre/Ishtar.
    +
Originally a Saxon word (Eostre), denoting a goddess of the Saxons, in honour of whom sacrifices were offered about the time of the Passover.
    +
Estre, a Teutonic goddess of the rising light of day and spring, which deity, however, is otherwise unknown, even in the Edda…April was called easter-monadh

Anointing of Christ as Prophetic Rehearsal of the Burial rites

Posted on April 5, 2012. Filed under: Jesus Christ Jeshua the Messiah Jahushua, Life and Death | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , |

Eight days after his birth Jesus was anointed for the first time at his circumcision, the traditional Jewish celebration to take up the child in the community of the Jewish people, Israel, the People of God.

Jesus Anointing

Jesus Anointing - 1874 Source WCG Author Alexander Bida

Six days before the Pascha /Pesach or Passover when the “crucifixion” was to take place we find Jesus with his disciples in Bethany at the house of the risen Lazarus and his two sisters Mary and Martha (John 11:1,2) This time we do not find a mention of an alabaster jar or tears as by the second anointing, but a drying with the hair and anointing of Jesus‘ feet with costly ointment of nard, of which Judas complains about wastefulness.
Jesus refers to this anointing to his coming death and burial, by which usually also the dead bodies are embalmed. Here we will find the sign of anointing and embalming the Anointed Dead as well as the detention of earthly dissolution or destruction.

“Accordingly יהושע, six days before the Passover, came to Bĕyth Anyah, where Elʽazar was, who had died, whom He raised from the dead. So they made Him a supper there, and Martha served, while Elʽazar was one of those who sat at the table with Him. Then Miryam took a pound of costly perfume of nard, anointed the feet of יהושע, and wiped His feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. Then one of His taught ones, Yehuḏah from Qerioth, son of Shimʽon, who was about to deliver Him up, said, “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred pieces of silver and given to the poor?” And he said this, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and he used to take what was put in it. יהושע then said, “Let her alone, she has kept this for the day of My burial. “For the poor you have with you always, but Me you do not have always.” Then a great crowd of the Yehuḏim learned that He was there. And they came, not on account of יהושע only, but also to see Elʽazar, whom He had raised from the dead. And the chief priests resolved to kill Elʽazar as well, because on account of him many of the Yehuḏim went away and believed in יהושע. ” (John 12:1-11 The Scriptures 1998+)

The lady in Bethany did not want to seek to please and honour herself. When Mary, having taken a litra [about 12 ounces or 340 grams] of very valuable, pure spikenard ointment, anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair she acted as she wanted to be a servant and clean her Master, honouring him. At the same time perhaps to become pure in heart like him who did not need a cleansing because he was without fault, but to repel all anxiety, all discontent, all discouragement.

Judas Iscariot son of Simon, the one about to betray his master Jesus asked why this ointment was not sold for three hundred denarii [i.e., 300 days' wages or a whole year's salary or a Roman legionary sixteen months' pay] and given to poor people. But Mary found her friend who raised Lazarus from the dead worth so much if not more. Also we should be aware of the costly price of Jesus, being more than the 10 months or more wages.

For them Jesus was still with them, but they had to know they would not have Jesus always around any more. “For the poor you always have with yourselves, but Me you do not always have.”  (John 12:8)  This is what Mary perceived with her delicate woman’s intuition and what the apostles failed to understand though repeatedly and plainly told by Jesus. For her actions this deed and woman would be remembered. For we got here a prophetic rehearsal of the burial rites.

“Truly, I say to you, wherever this Good News is proclaimed in all the world, what this woman did shall also be spoken of, to her remembrance.”
(Mark 14:9 & Matthew 26:13 The Scriptures 1998+)

Though it would have bought bread for thousands here the living bread has been prepared. And that bread would be for billions of people. And “two hundred pieces of silver worth of bread is not sufficient for them, for every one of them to receive a little. (John 6:7 The Scriptures 1998+)

The generous tone of Jesus his prediction, remarkably fulfilled, is in sharp contrast to the mean protest of the disciples. The disciples criticized this lavish praise. Then for one of the twelve, called Yehuḏah from Qerioth or Judas Iscariot it was clear that nothing material was to be gained from associating with this man he followed for several months and considered being the Messiah. The evangel his master heralded for the whole world preached sacrifice, humility, peace and absence from wealth.  This Jesus had so little appreciation of the value of money.  Judas had no love of the poor, (John 12:6.10-11). Jesus is far from opposing efforts to conquer pauperism; he simply remarks a fact: the disciples will have ample opportunity after he has gone to care for the poor.

While Mary sacrificed a large sum of money to show her love to Jesus, Judas sold Him for the hire of a slave and got for his treachery the equivalent of 120 denarii. The thirty pieces of silver are staters. The sum was a natural one for the priests to choose because the Law laid it down as the price for a human person (a slave; Exodus 21:32).

By this anointing of Jesus, once more the world could find in the sign of anointing that he was the promised Christ (= the anointed) or Messiah.

At the Last Supper, before his death, Jesus washes also the feet of his pupils

Later when Jesus at an other meal, his Last Supper, would take the bread to bless it we shall get the end of the Mosaic dispensation. The true Paschal Lamb was Jesus Christ, and he was now ready for the sacrifice. Yet at the very hour he was offered, unbelieving Jews were sacrificing useless blood in the temple. The Lord’s supper which takes the place of the Old Testament ceremonies, is a memorial of Christ as a gift and sacrifice, a parable of the true nature of Christianity — Christ becoming a part of us, and a prophecy of his future coming and glory.

The priests didn’t want to put Jesus to death during the Passover feast, but they will anyway. The Passover as a sacred feast, remembered the deliverance of Israel from Egypt, which was the central act of redemption in the Old Testament. Now Jesus will provide a new centre of redemption. In him we can find the most sublime Lamb and offer for God. This time not an animal and not an innocent child who can not dispute (as Isaac), but an adult man who has a free will and enough understanding to be aware of his actions and with enough insight to what is going to happen.

If we’re lucky, we’ll only jump to Maundy Thursday with the Last Supper and the washing of feet. Some will at least jump to Good Friday. Many, though, take leave of absence until Easter Day itself, missing out the unpleasant, gory parts of the story.

You feel the discrepancy between Jesus and his disciples. They aren’t picking up all he has warned them about, so much so they are still arguing about status and greatness and looking forward to a good Passover meal. All the time, Jesus knows what is coming.

In this act by the sister of Lazarus – from a family of some means – all sorts of images are stirred for us.  But among the many gifts the story has brought to the Church through all the centuries, perhaps one of the most enduring ones is created by the argument of Judas Iscariot.
  • Extravagant love for Jesus (worryisuseless.wordpress.com)
What Mary had done brought sweetness not only in the physical sense, but the spiritual sense as well. Her lovely deed shows the extravagance of love – a love that we cannot outmatch. The Lord Jesus showed us the extravagance of his love in giving the best he had by pouring out his own blood for our sake and by anointing us with his Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul says thatnothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:39). Do you allow the love of Christ to rule in all your thoughts and intentions, and in all your words and deeds?
  • The Fragrance of Holy Week (interruptingthesilence.com)
Most of our time and attention in Holy Week are given to the triduum and rightly so. The three days of that period encompass Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. They are, perhaps, the most holy days of the year. If they hold that kind of prominence, then maybe we ought to look at what leads us into those days, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Holy Week. There are Eucharistic propers for each of those days.
  • Holy Week – Part 2 – The Jerusalem Establishment (sfnowak.com)
When Jesus was taken to Pilate, seeing that Jesus was a Galilean, Pilate hoped to get out of the middle and sent Him to Herod for judgment. Herod, wanting to see Jesus crucified sent Him right back to Pilate. Apparently Herod could have people stoned or crushed to death but inflicting crucifixion was strictly a Roman right.
  • Anointed with Purpose (youngdisciplesforchrist.wordpress.com)
From the throne of eternity God searches the hearts of men seeking to choose for Himself those who are willing to serve His purpose in their generation. From the throne of His sanctuary God speaks from the realm of heaven into the world He set apart for us to serve Him and connects with us to compel us and prompt us to live with the purpose of aligning our will with His in order to experience the fulfillment of His promises. By the authority of His name, His word and the anointing of His Holy Spirit, God seeks out those who are willing to be conformed to the image of His Son and be filled with the power and grace of the Spirit of Jesus Christ in order to serve Him in their generation to bring glory to the Most High, the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
    +
Everyone who believes Jesus Christ is the Son of God has been chosen by God for His purposes to serve Him in their generation. Like David, we are anointed with the Spirit of Christ so the power and grace and truth of Christ may be manifested in and through us to affect positive change and make the world around us a better place. If you are reading this today, God wants you to embrace His purpose for you, believing you are anointed with purpose to serve Him in this generation, through faith in Christ.
  • Scripture for Holy Week (dumc2.wordpress.com)
The scriptures for this week are “bookends.” The first reminds us of how we began the season, with Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness. The second scripture tells the events of Jesus’ last two days: Jesus’ “anointing for burial,” predictions of coming events, his last supper with his disciples, the lonely last night when his best friends couldn’t even stay awake with him. Jesus was betrayed, arrested, denied, taken through a mockery of a trial, and crucified.
  • Holy Week, day 2, Monday…The anointing and cleansing of Jesus (pastormikesays.wordpress.com)
Once resolved to come to Jerusalem, Jesus is fearless. He knows only one thing, and that is to do God’s business. And God’s business and that of the religious authorities in Jerusalem are not the same.
    +
As Christians we are called to cleanse our lives in the purity of Christ’s teaching. This means we keep our bodies pure as they are the temples of the Holy Spirit.
    +
Holy Monday therefore demands us to examine our lives to see whether they glow with Christ’s purity and honesty, and to examine whether we live by Christ’s commandments or our own watered down version of them.
  • The Passion Narrative (tvaraj2inspirations.wordpress.com)
There were some who were indignant. “Why has there been this waste of perfumed oil? It could have been sold for more than three hundred days’ wages and the money given to the poor.” They were infuriated with her.

A Great Gift commemorated

Posted on March 28, 2012. Filed under: Breaking of the Bread, Feesten, Jesus Christ Jeshua the Messiah Jahushua, Life and Death | Tags: , , , , , , |

When we look around us we can see many beautiful things. Nature provides us with a lot of marvellous free things. We have the earth, the sand, the water, the trees, the birds, all for nothing.

We can live here on this earth, but the only ones who demand a lot of us are the people around us, the governments, companies and organisations.

Today the majority of the people do only want to work for money. they mostly want something in return for what they have done.

About 2000 years ago there lived a man in Nazareth who did not ask something in return for all the things he did. But the words he spoke, the miracles he did, he never claimed it to be his words or his actions. He wanted the whole world to know that it was his Father who did all those things, because without his Father he could do nothing.

“therefore, Yeshua said this to them: “yes, indeed! I tell you that the son cannot do anything on his own, but only what he sees the father doing; whatever the father does, the son does too.” (John 5:19 CJB)
“how God anointed Yeshua from Natzeret with the \@Ruach\@ \@haKodesh\@ and with power; how Yeshua went about doing good and healing all the people oppressed by the adversary, because god was with him.” (Acts 10:38 CJB)

In many churches from the pulpit is shouted by the priests and ministers “God loves you – just as you are”.

Many times they go on pointing to the bad things or certain penalties God would bring over the people, though it is not God who brings those bad tidings to the folks. God brings Good or Glad Tidings. God loves us as His children and does understand that we are weak; even so vulnerable that He was aware that we could not stay straight in line to His commandments without help. Therefore God gave men His Word and provided many prophets to guide the people through their life. It was up to their own choice if they wanted to hear the many prophets and wanted to listen to the Words of God. But everybody got the chance.

Though God knew this was not enough and therefore He provided the possibility to become redeemed and saved by a man. To make it easier He provided this Saviour in a special way, so that he would become partly direct from God, but having grown in a human mother, having come into this world, having to grow up as every child and having to make the same choices everybody has to make in their life.

This man from Nazareth knew that God does not love evil people doing evil things. God never has and never will. Jehovah has executed judgement on wrongdoers many times in the past and many people criticize Him for taking such drastic action.  Many people made God tired with all their talk.  Several accused Him of loving sinners and sin alike.

“you have wearied \@ADONAI\@ with your words. yet you ask, “how have we wearied him?” by saying that anyone who does wrong is good from \@ADONAI\@‘ s perspective, and that he is delighted with them; or by asking, “where is the god of justice?”” (Malachi 2:17 CJB)

The son of God, a simple workers son, grown up in a devout Jewish close family, got such a knowledge of the Torah and was so close to his God that he could really understand very well what his God was saying and wanted the people to know. Their thoughts were so close to each other that they were as one.

““so then,” Pilate said to him, “you are a king, after all.” Yeshua answered, “you say I am a king. the reason I have been born, the reason I have come into the world, is to bear witness to the truth. every one who belongs to the truth listens to me.”” (John 18:37 CJB)
“I and the father are one.”” (John 10:30 CJB) = “I and the Father are one heart and mind.”” (John 10:30 Message)
“that they may all be one. just as you, father, are united with me and I with you, I pray that they may be united with us, so that the world may believe that you sent me.” (John 17:21 CJB)

The Last Supper

The Last Supper of Jesus Christ at an upper room in Jerusalem - Roman Zacharij

In unification Jesus came together with his pupils-apostles and close friends to celebrate the Passover. That night he stressed that they had to be in union with him and his Father like he was with his Father, so that the world could be convinced that Jehovah God had sent him who was taking the bread of life. That night Jesus also asked not to forget what he had done but in particular to commemorate his taking the bread and the wine as a sign of the New Covenant.

“and whichever house he enters, tell him that the rabbi says, ‘where is the guest room for me, where I am to eat the \@Pesach\@ meal with my \@talmidim\@?’ he will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. make the preparations there.” the \@talmidim\@ went off, came to the city and found things just as he had told them they would be; and they prepared the \@Seder\@.” (Mark 14:14-16 CJB)

History shows that Jehovah’ chosen nation had a few special days that had the whole nation involved in it’s celebrations and was also a very emotional thing during that time. From a young age Jesus was himself involved as well as a grown man (Weddings, The Passover, and many others) these celebrations were given to the nation of Israel as a reminder of who there Saviour was ……. Jehovah God. To remember that Jesus and his friends were also together in the upper-room. But, though the apostles did not yet understand it very well,  Jesus added something special to this day.

We are speaking of a day which shall be celebrated  next Thursday, April 5 and should be the most important commemoration for true Christians. And yet the traditional holiday for many involves coloured eggs, hot-cross buns, and bunnies which have nothing to do with honouring Jesus nor Jehovah. Even the very name of this celebration (Easter) is the name of a pagan goddess!

Israel's Escape from Egypt

Israel's Escape from Egypt, illustration from a Bible card published 1907 by the Providence Lithograph Company

Marking the time of Passover from which the Israelites began their Exodus from Egypt Jesus took that memorial day serious and knew God wanted us to remember the liberation of His People for ever. Then a worldly lamb was cut in the throat and its blood was been used to cover the families who believed in God. Now Jesus wanted to offer his blood and flesh for the grace of God and as covering for everybody their sins. Jesus prepared the exodus from sin.

Jesus and all of his followers observed Passover on the 14th of Nisan all throughout his earthly life. But then he indicated what was to be accomplished by his death by instituting new symbols for the new covenant meaning of the Passover.

Jesus was aware that it would not be easy, but he was willing to do the Will of God, and not his own will, whatever God wanted him to do and whatever how much he was going to suffer. Gods Will on earth had to be fulfilled like it was in heaven.

“may your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10 CJB)
““father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, let not my will but yours be done.”” (Luke 22:42 CJB)

“on the first day for \@matzah\@, the \@talmidim\@ came to Yeshua and asked, “where do you want us to prepare your \@Seder\@?” “go into the city, to so-and-so,” he replied, “and tell him that the rabbi says, ‘my time is near, my \@talmidim\@ and I are celebrating \@Pesach\@ at your house.’ ” the \@talmidim\@ did as Yeshua directed and prepared the \@Seder\@. when evening came, Yeshua reclined with the twelve \@talmidim\@; and as they were eating, he said, “yes, I tell you that one of you is going to betray me.” they became terribly upset and began asking him, one after the other, “lord, you don’t mean me, do you?” he answered, “the one who dips his \@matzah\@ in the dish with me is the one who will betray me. the son of man will die just as the \@Tanakh\@ says he will; but woe to that man by whom the son of man is betrayed! it would have been better for him had he never been born!” Y’hudah, the one who was betraying him, then asked, “surely, rabbi, you don’t mean me?” he answered, “the words are yours.” while they were eating, Yeshua took a piece of \@matzah\@, made the \@b’rakhah\@, broke it, gave it to the \@talmidim\@ and said, “take! eat! this is my body!” also he took a cup of wine, made the \@b’rakhah\@, and gave it to them, saying, “all of you, drink from it! for this is my blood, which ratifies the new covenant, my blood shed on behalf of many, so that they may have their sins forgiven. I tell you, I will not drink this ‘fruit of the vine’ again until the day I drink new wine with you in my father’s kingdom.” after singing the \@Hallel\@, they went out to the mount of olives.” (Matthew 26:17-30 CJB)

“when evening came, Yeshua arrived with the twelve. as they were reclining and eating, Yeshua said, “yes! I tell you that one of you is going to betray me.” they became upset and began asking him, one after the other, “you don’t mean me, do you?” “it’s one of the twelve,” he said to them, “someone dipping \@matzah\@ in the dish with me. for the son of man will die, just as the \@Tanakh\@ says he will; but woe to that man by whom the son of man is betrayed! it would have been better for him had he never been born!” while they were eating, Yeshua took a piece of \@matzah\@, made the \@b’rakhah\@, broke it, gave it to them and said, “take it! this is my body.” also he took a cup of wine, made the \@b’rakhah\@, and gave it to them; and they all drank. he said to them, “this is my blood, which ratifies the new covenant, my blood shed on behalf of many people. yes! I tell you, I will not drink this ‘fruit of the vine’ again until the day I drink new wine in the kingdom of god.” after singing the \@Hallel\@, they went out to the mount of olives.” (Mark 14:17-26 CJB)

“then came the day of \@matzah\@, on which the Passover lamb had to be killed. Yeshua sent Kefa and Yochanan, instructing them, “go and prepare our \@Seder\@, so we can eat.” they asked him, “where do you want us to prepare it?” he told them, “as you’re going into the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. follow him into the house he enters, and say to its owner, ‘the rabbi says to you, “where is the guest room, where I am to eat the \@Pesach\@ meal with my \@talmidim\@?”’ he will show you a large room upstairs already furnished; make the preparations there.” they went and found things just as Yeshua had told them they would be, and they prepared for the \@Seder\@. when the time came, Yeshua and the emissaries reclined at the table, and he said to them, “I have really wanted so much to celebrate this \@Seder\@ with you before I die! for I tell you, it is certain that I will not celebrate it again until it is given its full meaning in the kingdom of god.” then, taking a cup of wine, he made the \@b’rakhah\@ and said, “take this and share it among yourselves. for I tell you that from now on, I will not drink the ‘fruit of the vine’ until the kingdom of god comes.” also, taking a piece of \@matzah\@, he made the \@b’rakhah\@, broke it, gave it to them and said, “this is my body, which is being given for you; do this in memory of me.” he did the same with the cup after the meal, saying, “this cup is the new covenant, ratified by my blood, which is being poured out for you. “but look! the person who is betraying me is here at the table with me! the son of man is going to his death according to god’s plan, but woe to that man by whom he is being betrayed!” they began asking each other which of them could be about to do such a thing. an argument arose among them as to which of them should be considered the greatest. but Yeshua said to them, “the kings of the \@Goyim\@ lord it over them; and those in authority over them are given the title, ‘Benefactor.’ but not so with you! on the contrary, let the greater among you become like the younger, and one who rules like one who serves. for who is greater? the one reclining at the table? or the one who serves? it’s the one reclining at the table, isn’t it? but I myself am among you like one who serves. “you are the ones who have stayed with me throughout my trials. just as my father gave me the right to rule, so I give you an appointment, namely, to eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and to sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Isra’el. “Shim‘on, Shim‘on, listen! the adversary demanded to have you people for himself, to sift you like wheat! but I prayed for you, Shim‘on, that your trust might not fail. and you, once you have turned back in repentance, strengthen your brothers!” Shim‘on said to him, “lord, I am prepared to go with you both to prison and to death!” Yeshua replied, “I tell you, Kefa, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know me.” he said to them, “when I sent you out without wallet, pack or shoes, were you ever short of anything?” “not a thing,” they answered. “but now,” he said, if you have a wallet or a pack, take it; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your robe to buy one. for I tell you this: the passage from the \@Tanakh\@ that says, ‘he was counted with transgressors,’ {#Isa 53:12} has to be fulfilled in me; since what is happening to me has a purpose.” they said, “look, lord, there are two swords right here!” “enough!” he replied. on leaving, Yeshua went as usual to the mount of olives; and the \@talmidim\@ followed him.” (Luke 22:7-39 CJB)

The Last Supper, Museu de Évora - Apr 2011

15th century Portuguese painting of the last supper - Museu de Évora

“it was just before the festival of \@Pesach\@, and Yeshua knew that the time had come for him to pass from this world to the father. having loved his own people in the world, he loved them to the end. they were at supper, and the adversary had already put the desire to betray him into the heart of Y’hudah Ben-Shim‘on from K’riot. Yeshua was aware that the father had put everything in his power, and that he had come from god and was returning to god. so he rose from the table, removed his outer garments and wrapped a towel around his waist. then he poured some water into a basin and began to wash the feet of the \@talmidim\@ and wipe them off with the towel wrapped around him. he came to Shim‘on Kefa, who said to him, “lord! you are washing my feet?” Yeshua answered him, “you don’t understand yet what I am doing, but in time you will understand.” “no!” said Kefa, “you will never wash my feet!” Yeshua answered him, “if I don’t wash you, you have no share with me.” “lord,” Shim‘on Kefa replied, “not only my feet, but my hands and head too!” Yeshua said to him, “A man who has had a bath doesn’t need to wash, except his feet—his body is already clean. and you people are clean, but not all of you.” (he knew who was betraying him; this is why he said, “not all of you are clean.”) after he had washed their feet, taken back his clothes and returned to the table, he said to them, “do you understand what I have done to you? you call me ‘rabbi’ and ‘lord,’ and you are right, because I am. now if I, the lord and rabbi, have washed your feet, you also should wash each other’s feet. for I have set you an example, so that you may do as I have done to you. yes, indeed! I tell you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is an emissary greater than the one who sent him. if you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. “I’m not talking to all of you—I know which ones I have chosen. but the words of the \@Tanakh\@ must be fulfilled that say, ‘the one eating my bread has turned against me.’ {#Ps 41:9} I’m telling you now, before it happens; so that when it does happen, you may believe that I AM (who I say I am). yes, indeed! I tell you that a person who receives someone I send receives me, and that anyone who receives me receives the one who sent me.” after saying this, Yeshua, in deep anguish of spirit, declared, “yes, indeed! I tell you that one of you will betray me.” the \@talmidim\@ stared at one another, totally mystified—whom could he mean? one of his \@talmidim\@, the one Yeshua particularly loved, was reclining close beside him. so Shim‘on Kefa motioned to him and said, “ask which one he’s talking about.” leaning against Yeshua’s chest, he asked Yeshua, “lord, who is it?” Yeshua answered, “it’s the one to whom I give this piece of \@matzah\@ after I dip it in the dish.” so he dipped the piece of \@matzah\@ and gave it to Y’hudah Ben-Shim‘on from K’riot. as soon as Y’hudah took the piece of \@matzah\@, the adversary went into him. “what you are doing, do quickly!” Yeshua said to him. but no one at the table understood why he had said this to him. some thought that since Y’hudah was in charge of the common purse, Yeshua was telling him, “buy what we need for the festival,” or telling him to give something to the poor. as soon as he had taken the piece of \@matzah\@, Y’hudah went out, and it was night. after Y’hudah had left, Yeshua said, “now the son of man has been glorified, and god has been glorified in him. if the son has glorified god, god will himself glorify the son, and will do so without delay. little children, I will be with you only a little longer. you will look for me; and, as I said to the Judeans, ‘where I am going, you cannot come,’ now I say it to you as well. “I am giving you a new command: that you keep on loving each other. in the same way that I have loved you, you are also to keep on loving each other. everyone will know that you are my \@talmidim\@ by the fact that you have love for each other.” Shim‘on Kefa said to him, “lord, where are you going?” Yeshua answered, “where I am going, you cannot follow me now; but you will follow later.” “lord,” Kefa said to him, “why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you!” Yeshua answered, “you will lay down your life for me? yes, indeed! I tell you, before the rooster crows you will disown me three times.” (John 13:1-38 CJB)

“the “cup of blessing” over which we make the \@b’rakhah\@ —isn’t it a sharing in the bloody sacrificial death of the Messiah? the bread we break, isn’t it a sharing in the body of the Messiah? because there is one loaf of bread, we who are many constitute one body, since we all partake of the one loaf of bread. look at physical Isra’el: don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar? so, what am I saying? that food sacrificed to idols has any significance in itself? or that an idol has significance in itself? no, what I am saying is that the things which pagans sacrifice, they sacrifice not to god but to demons; and I don’t want you to become sharers of the demons! you can’t drink both a cup of the lord and a cup of demons, you can’t partake in both a meal of the lord and a meal of demons. or are we trying to make the lord jealous? we aren’t stronger than he is, are we?” (1 Corinthians 10:16-22 CJB)

Caraca4

Last Supper by painter Manuel da Costa Ataide inside the church of Caraça

“thus, when you gather together, it is not to eat a meal of the lord; because as you eat your meal, each one goes ahead on his own; so that one stays hungry while another is already drunk! don’t you have homes to eat and drink in? or are you trying to show your contempt for god’s Messianic community and embarrass those who are poor? what am I supposed to say to you? am I supposed to praise you? well, for this I don’t praise you! for what I received from the lord is just what I passed on to you—that the lord Yeshua, on the night he was betrayed, took bread; and after he had made the \@b’rakhah\@ he broke it and said, “this is my body, which is for you. do this as a memorial to me”; likewise also the cup after the meal, saying, “this cup is the new covenant effected by my blood; do this, as often as you drink it, as a memorial to me.” for as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the lord, until he comes. therefore, whoever eats the lord’s bread or drinks the lord’s cup in an unworthy manner will be guilty of desecrating the body and blood of the lord! so let a person examine himself first, and then he may eat of the bread and drink from the cup; for a person who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself. this is why many among you are weak and sick, and some have died! if we would examine ourselves, we would not come under judgment. but when we are judged by the lord, we are being disciplined, so that we will not be condemned along with the world. so then, my brothers, when you gather together to eat, wait for one another. if someone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you meet together it will not result in judgment. as for the other matters, I will instruct you about them when I come.” (1 Corinthians 11:20-34 CJB)

You are kindly invited to come and meet together as a group to commemorate this Last Supper Jesus had and the terrible moments he had to endure afterwards. On the 14th of Nisan we shall also take a piece of bread, give thanks to God, break it, but only partake of it when we are baptised and in Christ. This will be to remember the body of Christ Jesus (Jeshua), which is given for you and me. “Do this in memory of me” Jesus told his disciples, and after them their disciples did the same giving it unto the next generation. As long as Jesus did not return we shall continue to remember that Last Supper, taking part of the meal in unification.

While on Thursday everybody is welcome at the open service, we shall, in the same way Jesus had taken the cup after the supper,  also do this only with the visiting baptised Brothers and Sisters from France, Belgium, Luxembourg and England, in Parish at the Parish Ecclesia at the Quaker House.  We shall share the bread and the wine as a token of God’s new covenant, sealed with Christ his blood. Whenever we drink it, we do so in memory of the sacrifice Jesus of Nazareth brought for the whole world

By Breaking the Bread and Drinking the Wine we proclaim Jeshua’s death until he comes.

We do not have to mourn. We can be happy because after Jesus was put in the grave (or descended in the ‘hell‘ or sheol) he was lifted up by his Father and taken out of death as an example to what is going to happen to us as well. In Jesus his death and resurrection we can find the fulfilment of the promise to be saved and to have the opportunity to enter the Kingdom of God, when we are worthy of that.

“towards evening, there came a wealthy man from Ramatayim named Yosef, who was himself a \@talmid\@ of Yeshua. he approached Pilate and asked for Yeshua’s body, and Pilate ordered it to be given to him. Yosef took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen sheet, and laid it in his own tomb, which he had recently had cut out of the rock. after rolling a large stone in front of the entrance to the tomb, he went away. Miryam of Magdala and the other Miryam stayed there, sitting opposite the grave. next day, after the preparation, the head \@cohanim\@ and the \@P’rushim\@ went together to Pilate and said, “sir, we remember that that deceiver said while he was still alive, ‘after three days I will be raised.’ therefore, order that the grave be made secure till the third day; otherwise the \@talmidim\@ may come, steal him away and say to the people, ‘he was raised from the dead’; and the last deception will be worse than the first.” Pilate said to them, “you may have your guard. go and make the grave as secure as you know how.” so they went and made the grave secure by sealing the stone and putting the guard on watch.” (Matthew 27:57-66 CJB)
“after \@shabbat\@, as the next day was dawning, Miryam of Magdala and the other Miryam went to see the grave. suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of \@ADONAI\@ came down from heaven, rolled away the stone and sat on it. his appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow. the guards were so terrified at him that they trembled and became like dead men. but the angel said to the women, “don’t be afraid. I know you are looking for Yeshua, who was executed on the stake. he is not here, because he has been raised – just as he said! come and look at the place where he lay. then go quickly and tell the \@talmidim\@, ‘he has been raised from the dead, and now he is going to the Galil ahead of you. you will see him there.’ now I have told you.”” (Matthew 28:1-7 CJB)

We can be happy because by Jesus his sacrifice we are saved.

Jesus brought to death on the wooden stake

“there is salvation in no one else! for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by whom we must be saved!”” (Acts 4:12 CJB)
“how god anointed Yeshua from Natzeret with the \@Ruach\@ \@haKodesh\@ and with power; how Yeshua went about doing good and healing all the people oppressed by the adversary, because god was with him. “as for us, we are witnesses of everything he did, both in the Judean countryside and in Yerushalayim. they did away with him by hanging him on a stake; {#de 21:23} but god raised him up on the third day and let him be seen, not by all the people, but by witnesses god had previously chosen, that is, by us, who ate and drank with him after he had risen again from the dead. “then he commanded us to proclaim and attest to the Jewish people that this man has been appointed by god to judge the living and the dead. all the prophets bear witness to him, that everyone who puts his trust in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”” (Acts 10:38-43 CJB)
“but the next day, while it was still very early, they took the spices they had prepared, went to the tomb, and found the stone rolled away from the tomb! on entering, they discovered that the body of the lord Yeshua was gone! they were standing there, not knowing what to think about it, when suddenly two men in dazzlingly bright clothing stood next to them. terror-stricken, they bowed down with their faces to the ground. the two men said to them, “why are you looking for the living among the dead? he is not here; he has been raised. remember how he told you while he was still in the Galil, ‘the son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be executed on a stake as a criminal, but on the third day be raised again’?” then they remembered his words;” (Luke 24:1-8 CJB)
“for among the first things I passed on to you was what I also received, namely this: the Messiah died for our sins, in accordance with what the \@Tanakh\@ says; and he was buried; and he was raised on the third day, in accordance with what the \@Tanakh\@ says; and he was seen by Kefa, then by the twelve; and afterwards he was seen by more than five hundred brothers at one time, the majority of whom are still alive, though some have died.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-6 CJB)
“for the Messiah himself died for sins, once and for all, a righteous person on behalf of unrighteous people, so that he might bring you to god. he was put to death in the flesh but brought to life by the spirit;” (1 Peter 3:18 CJB)

We shall be joyously remember that God has given life again to his son Jesus and gave him a higher place in heaven to become a mediator for us.

“but now the work Yeshua has been given to do is far superior to theirs, just as the covenant he mediates is better. for this covenant has been given as \@torah\@ on the basis of better promises.” (Hebrews 8:6 CJB)
“therefore god raised him to the highest place and gave him the name above every name;” (Philippians 2:9 CJB)“he has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of god, {#Ps 110:1} with angels, authorities and powers subject to him.” (1 Peter 3:22 CJB)
“for god is one; {#de 6:4} and there is but one mediator between god and humanity, Yeshua the Messiah, himself human,” (1 Timothy 2:5 CJB)
“to the mediator of a new covenant, Yeshua; and to the sprinkled blood that speaks better things than that of Hevel.” (Hebrews 12:24 CJB)

On Sunday the 8th of April we shall be glad to be together for the whole day as brothers and sisters, and not only gather together to eat the Lord’s Supper, but have also a nice meal together to fraternise. So all Christadelphians who would like to come to share the day are welcome.

In case you live to far away please do not forget to take these coming day in your memory and do not forget to come together with others to celebrate this special occasion. So make sure you shall celebrate the Passover and have some nice time together at the Easter celebrations to show your thankfulness for the marvellous gift Jesus has given for you and God has accepted for us.

This day of the Gift of Grace should never be forgotten by all on earth today. Make the world know that Jesus has died for our sins and is risen.

just saying you are sorry and admitting that one is a sinner certainly isn’t repentance
  • He Says Concerning Himself “I am the Son of Elohim” (guapotg.wordpress.com)
It has been said that there are over three hundred Messianic prophecies in the Tanak.
    +
there is an amazing Messianic Prophecy found in The Wisdom of Solomon 2:12-22
12: Therefore let us trouble the Righteous One; because he is not pleasant to us, and
he stands up against our doings: and he reviles us for our transgression of the
Torah, and records against us the trespasses of our audacity.
13: He professes that the knowledge of Elohim is his: and he says concerning himself
“I am the Son of Elohim”
14: He is a rebuker of our thoughts.  …

  • Blogging thru the Bible/Be Separate (battorah.wordpress.com)
“Moshe said, ‘You have consecrated yourselves to Adonai, because everyone of you has been against his own son, and against his own kinsman, in order to bring a blessing on yourselves today.’”  (Ex. 32:29, CJB)
  • The Mystery of the Passover Wine Revealed: The Yayin HaMeshumar….Yeshua said, “I shall give you what no eye has seen and what no ear has heard and what no hand has touched and what has never occurred to the mind of man. (Gospel of Thomas 17) (guapotg.wordpress.com)
The phrase “wine that has been kept” in the Hebrew is Yayin HaMeshumar “wine of keeping”. The tradition of the Yayin HaMeshumar runs deep in traditional Judaism. It is the wine that will be served at the Messianic Feast when the Messiah re-establishes the Kingdom of Israel on earth.
    +
Not only is the Yayin HaMeshumar the blood of the Messiah, but it is more. It is the “mystery” of which the blood of Messiah is only part:
    +
next time you partake of the cup of redemption in the Passover sader, realize that this cup is symbolic of the Yayin HeMeshumar, the wine that has been kept from the six days in the beginning, the blood of the lamb slain from the foundation which has been hidden and separated and prepared for those who love him.
  • The LORD Jesus Christ- Our Passover (zionsgate.wordpress.com)
Pesach (PAY-sahk) means to ‘pass over’.  The Passover meal, seder (SAY der), celebrates this historic event.
    +
The LORD’s supper is a remembrance of his sacrifice as the perfect Passover Lamb and the fulfillment of the new covenant between GOD and man (Luke 22:20; 1st Corinthians 5:7; Ephesians 2:11-13).  Prophecy of this sacrifice is found in Psalm 22.  The Hebrew prophet Isaiah also spoke of the sufferings and sacrifice of the Messiah, and how that sacrifice would be the ultimate atonement for the sins of GOD’s people (Isaiah 53).
  • This Week’s Torah Portion – VAYIKRA (And He Called)(terri0729.wordpress.com)
God made Nisan the first month of the year because it was the month in which
the Jewish people were freed from slavery in Egypt.
So too, may we remember our freedom from the slavery of sin and death through
    Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.
  • The High Holy Days for Atonement – 2012 A.D. (moshebarabraham2013.wordpress.com)
As we prepare for The High Holy Days of Midian, Israel, and Ishmael, we seek Atonement through Fasting and Prayer as handed down to us from our Ancestors under The Covenant of Abraham (COA), Ibrahiym.
  • Experience The Seven Blessings of Passover (jscotthusted.wordpress.com)
In this special season, a doorway to commanded blessing, God promises in His word to pour out seven specific and very powerful blessings. When we honor and observe God’s commandments, we also reap God’s blessings.  But we must follow the pattern and obey the ordinances of God to see these blessings!
    +
Because of the blood of Christ, we have a new life – a new beginning.  Our past does not define us.  Because of our covenant connection, and the blood of our ‘passover,’ Jesus Christ, we are free from sin – and when we observe God’s command to honor this special appointment with Him, we activate His seven supernatural blessings in our lives!
  • Passover and the Feast of Unleaven Bread (ourcommunityatfbcdc.wordpress.com)
The Passover meal is eaten on the first day. God commanded that Israel keep this feast perpetually.
    +
God offers us redemption through the atoning action of Jesus Christ, God’s son who came to the earth, and suffered and died for the sins of the world. He became the Paschal lamb. Under this judgment of sin and ultimate eternal death, God freely offers to all who will believe and accept His provision for us, forgiveness of our sins and life eternal.
  • The Passover Type and Its Anti-type (compasschurchamman.wordpress.com)
The Old Testament (Exodus 34:18, 25) distinguishes the festivals by using the terms “Feast of Unleavened Bread” and “Passover Feast”. The New Testament (Matthew 26:17; Mark 14:1; Luke 22:1) refers to both of these as “the Passover” and the “Feast of the Unleavened Bread. These festivals were held in immediate sequence. Passover was celebrated at twilight of the 14th day of the month (Exodus 12:6) and the Feast of Unleavened Bread for the seven days following, namely, the 15th to the 21st (Exodus 12:15; Leviticus 23:5f.; Numbers 28:16ff; 2 Chronicles 35:1, 17).
    +
The timing of Jesus’ death in the Passover season and the conviction that his death was the atoning death of “blood poured out for many” (Mark 14:24) assisted linking his atoning death to the Passover sacrifice. As the Israelite was delivered from the bondage of Egypt through the blood of the Passover lamb, so the Christian is saved from sin through the sacrifice of Christ; but Paul further adds that continual victory over the sins of the world means a continual observing of the Feast of Redemption.

  • Echoing Passover in This Worship (tbolto.wordpress.com)
The word “Seder” simply means “Order.” Everything is done in a careful order in keeping with God’s instructions in the Old Testament or Torah, as it is known by Jewish people, and with traditions that have been added to keep alive the memory of the original Passover people.

  • Provide Yourself With a Teacher… (kingdaughter.wordpress.com)
The study of God’s Word is considered a sacred act in the service of God. It should, therefore, be approached with a sense of duty – deliberately, consistently and systematically.
    +
When study is undertaken in service and worship of God, we can trust that God Himself will direct us in our pursuits by His Spirit.
    +
Yeshua, when teaching his disciples in preparation for his approaching death, assures them: “ When he, the Spirit of truth is come, he shall guide you into all truth…” (John 16:13). We, too, can place our full trust in the Shepherd of our souls, now seated at the right hand of the Throne of Grace, knowing that He will guide us safely in the power of the Spirit of holiness and truth that, through His gift of grace, dwells within us.

When someone asks “are you saved”? the natural question is “saved from what?” “Saved” is a verb that begs for a direct object. Yet many who ask you “are you saved” cannot actually tell you what they mean.

Joods Passover - The Jews' Passover Facsimile of a miniature from a missel of fifteenth century ornamented with paintings of the School of Van Eyck. Bibl. de l'Arsenal, Th. lat., no 199. Project Gutenberg text 10940
